South Africa scored 296/4 runs in their 50 overs after batting first. Brilliant knocks from Bavuma and especially van der Dussen has taken South Africa to 296. They were struggling at 68/3 when Markram was run-out but then a record 4th wicket partnership for South Africa against India in ODIs – 204- has propelled the score to a very good one on a slow pitch. While Bavuma was the anchor, van der Dussen took on the mantle of finishing it off aggressively. India employed only the 5 bowlers and Thakur was expensive going over 7rpo while the spinners went for 106/1 in their 20 overs. Venkatesh Iyer wasn’t used by KL and that will raise a few eyebrows. But credit to van der Dussen and Bavuma for a splendid partnership which negated India’s threat. Rassie van der Dussen scored 129* of 96 balls and Skipper Temba Bavuma scored 110 of 143 balls. For Team India Bumrah pick 2 wickets for 48 runs in his 10 overs quota.
Innings Break!
South Africa post a total of 296/4 on the board.#TeamIndia chase coming up shortly. Stay tuned!

Team India unable to chased down the target and scored 265/8 in their 50 overs and lost the game by 31 runs. Contrasting batting approaches. South Africa got off to a slow start, were reduced to 68/3 in the 18th over and then fought back to post 296 on the board – thanks to the double-century partnership between Bavuma and van der Dussen. India, on the other hand, got off to a steady start but lost their momentum in the second half of their innings. Chasing 297, India lost Rahul cheaply but India were coasting along nicely with Dhawan and Kohli at the crease. The senior batters were milking the SA bowlers and the asking-rate was always in the vicinity of 6 RPO. However, unlike Bavuma and RVD, neither of the Indian batters converted their starts. Dhawan was cleaned up by Maharaj and Kohli fell to Shamsi playing a sweep. After losing both the set batters within a span of 18 deliveries, the Proteas tightened the screws and the visitors couldn’t stage a comeback. From 138/1, India slipped 214/8 and Thakur’s late blitz only reduced the margin of defeat. Shikhar Dhawan scored 79 of 84 balls and Virat Kohli scored 51 of 63 balls. For I Ngidi, Shamsi and Phehlukwayo pick 2 wickets each.
