South Africa bowled out for 287 in 49.5 overs. This is much less than what they looked like getting when the partnership between de Kock and van der Dussen was going strong. 214/3 they were after around 35 overs with de Kock getting a brilliant hundred and van der Dussen looking good with another fifty. But then there was a wobble, with both getting out in quick succession. Miller and Pretorius though did well to ensure there wasn’t a complete collapse, leaving them with a score that may not be what they were eyeing in the final 15 overs, but it’s still handy given how much turn there is. South Africa might’ve been better placed with Shamsi in the attack, but they’ve still got Maharaj and Markram who’s been quite effective in this series as well. The over-rate has been pretty poor from India, finishing more than half an hour behind schedule. Quinton de Kock scored 124 of 130 balls and Rassie van der Dussen scored 52 of 59 balls. For Team India Prasidh Krishna pick 3 wickets for 59 runs in his 9.5 overs.

Team India unable to chased down the target and bowled out for 283 runs in 49.2 overs and lost the game by 4 runs. Heartbreak for India and Chahar. What a late effort that was, almost pulling off a repeat of what he did in Sri Lanka. Chahar made a quickfire 54 off 34 when India looked out of it, managing to take them to the doorstep of victory. But he couldn’t get the over the line. And South Africa were quick to clean up the last two wickets to seal a 3-0 whitewash. 288 was a challenging target on this pitch, with the ball gripping and holding repeatedly, allowing the pacers to use the slower balls to good effect, which is how South Africa sealed the win eventually. Kohli played well for his 65, but couldn’t defy the conditions. Suryakumar and Chahar briefly did, but they fell at critical points. Just four runs separating the two teams today as we were treated to a thriller in what was a dead-rubber. Virat Kohli scored 65 of 84 balls and Shikhar Dhawan scored 61 of 73 balls. For South Africa Ngidi and Phehlukwayo pick 3 wickets each.
