India won the game against Afghanistan-cricketmovie.com

ICC World Cup 2023: Team India dominating win against Afghanistan takes them to 2nd spot in the points table. They won the game by 8 wickets at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Now I will share the details of this game match in my way.

2nd Game (India Vs Afghanistan)
Game Date: 11th October 2023
Details:
Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss and elected to bat first in the 2nd game of ODI World Cup 2023 against Team India at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. One change in Indian Team and Shardul Thakur is playing today in the place of Ravichandran Ashwin

Afghanistan scored 272/8 runs in their 50 overs after batting first. They will be happy with this score. But by no means it’s anywhere near a match-winning score. Even though this pitch is not a road like the one South Africa-Sri Lanka was played on, it still is very good for batting. Gurbaz and Ibrahim started decently but threw away their starts and when Rahmat Shah got out, it was 63/3 and Afghanistan were in a spot of bother. But the promotion of Azmatullah worked superbly. Along with his skipper Hashmat, the allrounder stabilised the innings and struck lusty blows as well off the spinners. Both batters reached their fifties, but a Pandya slower ball got the allrounder. It broke the momentum as well and slowed down the innings. The skipper Shahidi carried on and was set for a 100 till he was dismissed by Kuldeep. Bumrah came back on and picked up a four-fer to prevent Afghanistan from getting anywhere close to 300. The likes of Najibullah and Nabi fell cheaply, and the dangerous cameo of Rashid Khan was ended by a good catch. India hot favorites to chase this down. But what can Afghanistan produce to stop that? Skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi scored 80 runs of 88 balls and Azmatullah Omarzai scored 62 runs of 69 balls. For Team India, Jasprit Bumrah picked 4 wickets for 39 runs in his 10 overs quota.

Team India chased down the target by scoring 273/2 runs in 35 overs and won the game by 8 wickets. All happy faces in the Indian camp as they congratulate each other. Virat doesn’t disappoint his home crowd – they will be happy to have seen a fifty from him. And Rohit gave them a party with an onslaught in the powerplay while also notching up the fastest hundred by an Indian in World Cups. So, on a batting beauty, Afghanistan opted to bat, while Rohit was happy to bowl citing dew. Bumrah, Hardik, Shardul got the hosts off to a good start, but the away team recovered nicely with a century stand between captain Hashmatullah and Azmatullah. And Hardik bowled a dream slower ball to knock over the latter to break that stand. And once that happened, Afghanistan lost gas and couldn’t propel beyond 300 as Bumrah worked his magic out at the end. This was at least a 350-pitch batting first. Afghanistan was well short, and India cruised to victory. Ishan and Shreyas spending some time would please the management. Skipper Rohit Sharma scored 131 of 84 balls and Virat Kohli scored 55* runs of 56 balls. For Afghanistan, Rashid Khan picked both fallen wickets for 57 runs in his 8 overs.
