Story: The opening scene, in the laboratory of Vayu Pharma in Bhopal, where a drug is being tested on rats, sets the tone for the series that looks into hurried drug trials on unsuspecting poor and naive people, the ruthless ways of big hospitals, pharma companies and their politics, and more.
Mangu (Vishal Jethwa) is tempted by an agent into including his parents in a drug trial. He will be paid a sizable amount of money for each round of the trial for each parent, and if he brings in more subjects he stands to earn. The young man is thrilled, unaware that S93R, the drug being tested, is actually banned in Europe and has killed others who didn’t know that they were part of a medical trial.
In a parallel universe, Dr Gauri Nath (Shefali Shah) is an acclaimed neurologist who runs Manthan, her own hospital, and is ably supported by her businessman spouse Pratap Munjal (Ram Kapoor). One of the many who worship her is Dr Saira Sabarwal (Kirti Kulhari) who is a cardiac surgeon who joins Manthan’s cardiology department. She is starry-eyed and idealistic but also capable and talented, the perfect combination for Gauri to mentor and manipulate. Saira too has a complicated personal life. She is also in the closet about her sexuality and a pathological liar when it comes to matters of the heart.
There are few young nurse who are part of a Stepford Wives like project supervised by Roma Ma (Seema Biswas) who has a past connection to Gauri. Due to drug trial Mangu mother died and she is desperate to get the remuneration from the hospital through the help of social activist Omar Pervez (Aasif Khan) who stumbles upon the shocking truth of manipulated drug trials and the deaths and side-effects connected with them while working among victims of the industrial gas leak of nearly four decades ago.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I have watched the trailer of this series planned to watch in free time because trailer looks intriguing and have not seen many medical thrillers.
Reputed Bhopal neurosurgeon Dr Gauri Nath who is also the owner of a big hospital Manthan, is about to embark upon an ambitious expansion plan, with full backing from supportive spouse. New entrant Dr Saira Sabarwal is on board with these plans, unaware that she is stepping into a minefield of roiling egos and ambition. Apart from these two women, united in the fact that they are good at their job, and a heightened awareness of each other which takes them way beyond a strictly professional relationship, there is a third. A quasi mother-figure who has had much to do with Gauri’s twisted past and complicated present, and whose sole job appears to be to take the series single-handedly into a bizarre zone from which it never really recovers.
Human tries to enunciate the collateral damage due to fast-tracked drug trials for financial gains. The tale sounds gripping, but besides the start and end, the edge-of-the-seat factor seems missing. Touching on compelling themes like the value of human life, medical malpractice, class divide, and ramifications of a fast-paced medical science, is all good, but when you’re somewhat going into the improbable zone, you tend to lose a lot of brownie points there.
While Saviour is a drug that saves patients from heart problems is the central conflict, there is also another drug to make people forget their trauma. The mystery around the trauma drug isn’t given much meat for us to be invested enough to be on the same emotional note which Gauri is when the castle falls. Length of this series is biggest minus as it could be compelling watch if it could be 2-3 episode lesser. At the same time, with barely a few light moments, it’s also very intense and can get morbid at times. While it makes a compelling watch, the faint-hearted may brave it and take it slow. Still It is indeed a decent One Time Watch. My View on this web-series Time pass but don’t watch this series with family.
