Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this one on OTT as trailer looks good in parts only and there is nothing new in the story.

A doting father and his 6-year-old daughter find their lives taking a dramatic turn when he narrated the story of the missing mother to his child.

Hi Papa story starts with an interesting premise but slips to a routine love story narrative. The romantic track is not fresh and predictable, but the background music and beautifully shot visuals keep it watchable for the most part. The second half of the movie holds the heart. The climax is again predictable but the touching sequences before that overshadow that. It expertly explores the nuances of love, marriage, and parenthood, maintaining engagement and feeding the soul. It also shows a lot of sensitivity in its portrayal of modern relationships, particularly in depicting Mrunal’s Yashna dealing with her trauma, deserving special applause. Debutant Shouryuv handled a few emotional blocks in a neat manner. Along with the emotional moments, a couple of twists add value to the proceedings. The performances by Nani, Mrunal Thakur, and Kiara Khanna bring the heartwarming family drama to life.

On the flipside, the initial portions of the love story aren’t great and are a bit routine. While the film maintains engagement throughout, minor lags occasionally surface, providing the lead characters with ample time to establish and showcase their emotions. The uneven pacing of the narrative further dampens the mood and tests your patience. The romantic portion is not very interesting, more so in the initial stages. Music is drawback as for any romantic drama music has to be excellent which is missing for this film.
Overall, movie a journey through love, resilience, and the delicate threads that bind a family together. Despite some predictability and slow-paced narrative, all the crafts came together to create an engaging cinematic experience. My view on this movie Recommended.
