Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this one on OTT once released in Hindi as liked the trailer and loved previous movies of Mahesh Babu.
A man seeks explanations when his mother asks him to sign a document denying he is her son while she campaigns for office, years after she deserts him and marries again.
Guntur Kaaram is a family entertainer film that is packed with mass moments and a contending relationship between a son and his deserted mother. The film packs a whole lot of emotion which rides on these two characters and how they find their way to each other. The intro sequence of the film itself showcasing a rugged Mahesh is whistle-worthy which makes the following dance number for the song Dum Masala all the more fun to watch. The banter and comedic exchanges with Vennela Kishore create genuine moments of laughter. Mahesh Babu is by far the highest advantage for the film. The film peaks in most points over the impeccable nature of Mahesh’s charm and charismatic energy which fills up the screens in whatsoever scenes he appears. The swag he presumes is a big reason for the film’s entertainment factor.
On the flipside, the film’s central weakness lies in its narrative, with Trivikram falling short in crafting a compelling storyline and a more robust screenplay. Emotional scenes suffer from the lackluster writing, impacting the overall engagement. It is burdened with unnecessary scenes featuring characters contributing little to the overarching plot. The underutilization of talented actors, including Meenakshii Chaudhary, Rahul Ravindran, Jagapathi Babu, Rao Ramesh, and Jayaram, adds to the film’s shortcomings. Despite a promising start, the first half loses momentum as it nears the interval. Hopes for an impressive latter half are dashed, emphasizing the need for Trivikram’s focus on script and screenplay development. Musical compositions, while acceptable, fail to rise above mediocrity. Overall, movie manages to entertain in parts, relying heavily on Mahesh Babu’s screen presence, accent, and one-liners. My view on this movie Time Pass only if you are big fan of actor.
