Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie on premiere day as trailer looks interesting.
Govinda Waghmare is a struggling choreographer and is wedged between his marriage to Gauri who dominates and insults him at every opportunity and love for dancer girlfriend Suku. But his problems snowball and life turn into a roller coaster ride when Gauri is found dead, and he becomes the prime suspect.
The writing in the last forty minutes was superior but it faltered in other places. Despite having a good potential to turn the film into a good crime thriller, the makers didn’t develop an exciting screenplay. The film thus takes a middling route to reach the climax, and hence the viewers won’t get engaged completely. The first hour is completely below-par with generic moments. Many subplots are included during this period, but none make a proper impact and just add to the film’s length. They also don’t have much importance in the latter part. It seemed that these subplots were just placed randomly without any connection. The narrative also becomes predictable till the final part, and the comedy, too, wasn’t good. The makers tried too hard to generate laughs but couldn’t succeed completely.
On the positive side, premise is lighthearted with just the right amount of humor and unexpected twists and turns. When new characters are introduced in the film, they bring their own drama with them. For the most part, the film’s breezy vibe and back-to-back hilarious lines keep you entertained. The suspense track is particularly interesting, and the revelation of the suspense is truly nice. If the dramatic, courtroom and family drama scenes are entertaining, so are the light scenes, especially in the first half. However, the latter half is crisper and more enjoyable. Performance of lead and supporting cast is very good.
Overall, movie has a few interesting moments. The last half an hour and the performances hold the key. Had the screenplay been tighter and more interesting in the rest of the portions, the film could have been a good one. It rests on a far-fetched and illogical second half. But thanks to the performances, fast-paced narrative and some unexpected comic and thrilling moments, it turns out to be a watchable film. My view on this movie Time Pass.
