Gadar 2 become fastest Bollywood film to enter 500 Crore club despite clashes. Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2 has created history and crossed 500 Cr magical figure in just 24 days and surpassed Pathaan and Baahubali 2. Shahrukh starrer entered the 500-crore club in 28 days with a collection of 500.05 crore, and it had beaten Baahubali 2 to become the fastest entry to the club.
Pathaan an expensive movie with budget in excess of 200 crores, when it comes to Gadar 2 the feat is far bigger since the cost of production is much lesser than even 100 crores. From that perspective, the ROI here is simply huge and when compared to several other 300 Crore Club blockbusters too that Bollywood has given, this one is much-much bigger. Gadar 2 is writing another page in the History of Hindi Cinema as it continues to make some new records and break the old ones, one day at a time.

One has to credit the team of Anil Sharma and ZEE Studios for carrying this conviction that Gadar 2 can indeed repeat history after Gadar and actually conceptualizing Gadar 2. Further to that it’s commendable how Sunny Deol came on board and lent that confidence that the film could actually be made and brought in front of the audiences across the country as the next big thing.
Though everyone expected that today’s audience wouldn’t be able to connect with the emotions of Tara Singh, Sunny’s film took everyone by surprise. The film became a massive hit, and the first collections were proof of the same. This week Gadar 2 will even surpass the entire lifetime score of Baahubali: The Conclusion (Hindi) [511 crores] and from there its journey will begin to go past the Pathaan [Hindi] lifetime score of 524.50 crores.
Again, above the numbers is the appreciation gained for the film which has never been seen in recent times as even though it will be the highest grosser it would have done much more without a clash. Gadar – Ek Pram Katha also clashed in 2001 with Lagaan but at that time it did not matter much much as both films had their own set of theatres. Today it becomes about sharing the screen space or losing some of it when another film comes.

Gadar 2: The Katha Continues is already the top grossing film of all time in Delhi / UP, Rajasthan and Bihar. East Punjab and CI and possibly Gujarat are looking to follow and eventually all India will follow. The numbers are there for the film but more than that it is the appreciation which no film since the first Gadar in 2001 has seen and that too it is coming from core the heavily populated areas who cannot get enough of this film.
As we write this, the film has also crossed the benchmark of Rs 650 crore gross at the worldwide Box Office. It is the 10th highest-grossing film of all time at the worldwide Box Office and the second highest-grossing Indian film of the year after Pathaan which collected a total of Rs 1050 crore gross worldwide when it was released in January this year.

Gadar 2 is a sequel of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, It starred Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma, who reprised their roles from the previous film. In the film, Tara Singh returns to Pakistan in order to rescue his imprisoned son during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. This period action-drama film directed and produced by Anil Sharma and written by Shaktimaan Talwar.
