Story: This is new Anthology of 6 unique love stories from Netflix after their recent release “Ray”. What happens when you meet a special someone in the most unexpected way?

First story is Save The Da(y)te which is directed by Ruchir Arun. Set in Goa amidst a big fat Indian wedding that is set to take place in a couple of hours. However all hell breaks loose when Avni Kalra (Radhika Madan) who is a social media influencer and hosting a live about her best friends Sunaina Dev and Pranav Chopra’s wedding and bride run away from wedding. She takes the help from wedding planner Aman (Amol Parashar) to search her friend. Will she able to find her friend and what happen next is all about this story.

Second short story is Quaranteen Crush which is directed by Tahira Kashyap Khurrana and cutest among all stories and my 2nd favorite. Set in Chandigarh amidst the COVID-19 scare at its earliest stages a teenage Sardar boy Manindra (Mihir Ahuja) readying for his boards finds himself crushing on the next-door-neighbour mimi (Kajol Chugh) who return from Canada and quarantine herself. When not sneaking off with his WhatsApp-fixated mum’s cell phone or receiving lessons on customer service from his lingerie selling dad, he thinks of ways to get closer to his paranoid neighbour in the time of social distancing. Amidst stealing glances, shy smiles and tons of sanitizer spray, they jam from their respective terraces and forge a sweet friendship.

Third story is Star Host which is directed by Anand Tiwari. Set in the picturesque hills of Mahableshwar, a young teenage boy Aditya (Rohit Saraf) opens his palatial home to tourist bookings to fund some cash for his dream trip to see Northern Lights as his parents are away. A young woman Tara (Simran Jehani) who decides to arrive solo following a bad break up, and he start on a wrong foot but things get expectedly better as they go along. She’s got all sorts of allergies. After several moments of awkwardness, an affectionate bond begins to develop between the two, albeit tentatively. It explores various aspects of love like jealousy, toxic attitudes and happiness.

Fourth story is She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not which is directed by Danish Aslam. The life of a self-conscious 23-year-old bisexual girl (Sanjeeta Bhattacharya) in Mumbai city is turned upside down the moments she lays her eyes on the sassy new superior (Saba Azad) in her advertising company. As inspiring the latter’s proudly queer ways are, her sexual preferences don’t make her heart hurt proof, it’s as complicated and vulnerable as any heterosexual relationship. It’s a vibrant and endearing portrayal of LGBTQ and director finds a subtle way of making it entirely about representation and yet still only about two people hitting it off.

Fifth story is Interview which is directed by Sachin Kundalkar. This story is best among all and I liked it very much. A man from Kerala, Rajeev (Neeraj Madhav) comes to Mumbai in search for a job and meets the clearly more qualified Shahana (Zayn Marie Khan) at the electronics store office. This story is not what you would expect but it keeps the pace up, switching seamlessly between the two intertwined tales of love. One tale of love ties the ends of another set in the past.

Sixth and last story of this anthology is Ishq Mastana which is directed by Jaydeep Sarkar. Activist Mehr (Tanya Maniktala) and pro-capitalism dudebro Kabir (Skand Thakur) meet at what he thinks is a date but is actually a protest that quickly turns violent. When they and their friends get arrested and need to make their way back to the city, their attitudes towards each other change for the better. The activists stop hating on the sports quota guy and Kabir begins to understand why they do what they do.

Positives
1. Excellent performances
2. Story
3. Direction
4. Screenplay
5. Cinematography

Negatives
1. 2 of 6 stories could have been better
2. Music
3. Climax
4. Short Length

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I had watched the trailer of this series planned to watch this film on first day. Watched first season and loved it

Feels like Ishq is an anthology of 6 unique love stories coming together to celebrate the feeling of falling in love. This heartwarmingly sweet old-school romance will leave you with a fuzzy feeling, a huge smile, and maybe on a nostalgic trip down memory lane of your first ishq. What happens when you meet a special someone in the most unexpected way?

Series does not put forward the idea of happily ever after but instead serves several viewpoints on modern day relationships and platonic love. If you love romantic stories especially those based in urban India and revolving around young people in their 20s, this series will be right up your alley. My view on this web-series Highly Recommended.
