Story: It is an Indian adaptation of a popular Korean drama, Flower Of Evil. Series revolves around Sammit Patel (Gulshan Devaiah) and Ira (Drashti Dhami) who are a happily married couple with a daughter as Anya (Hera Mishra). Professionally they are chalk and cheese as Sammit is a craftsman, whereas Ira is a police officer.
While investigating a gory copy-cat killing that follows the modus operandi of a 17 year old serial killing case done by serial killer Bala Banne’s (Zakir Hussain). Ira successfully solved this case but another murder case inevitably lead her to discover shocking revelations about her husband’s twisted past.
Sammit is though emotionally dysfunctional but is the ideal family man. Not only is he a great cook, he also takes care of his little daughter’s needs while his wife is busy solving crimes. Their love story may have been unconventional. Sammit also parted way from his sister Prachi (Barkha Bisht). How is Summit Patel connected to murderer Abhishek Banne? Why he parted ways from his sister. Watch this series to find the answers with cliffhangers at the end.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I watched the trailer planned to watch this series on premiere day because always loved thriller series and this one also looks gripping.
Duranga chronicles the love story of Sammit and Ira that unfolds in three different timelines. Hiding a twisted past, Sammit maintains a facade of a perfect husband to his Inspector wife Ira. With a series of twists and turns, Ira begins investigating multiple gory copycat murders by the suspected accomplice of a psychopathic serial killer Bala, twenty years after his suicide. This case leads her to some shocking revelations about her husband.
This Indian adaptation is a cross between a procedural crime drama and a cat-and-mouse pursuit thriller. Understanding the main character and the several subplots may be challenging at first, but as we get to know Sammit better, everything begins to make sense. This nine-part slow-burn thriller is a well-written show that effortlessly jumps across genres without losing sight of its main premise. It even quickly switches between the past and present of how Ira and Sammit first met and how they are now a perfect couple. But the most intriguing aspect of the show is that each episode contains numerous twists and turns and ends on a cliff-hanger, compelling you to watch the subsequent episodes and remain hooked throughout.
Though the initial episodes do take a fair amount of time to focus on individual murder cases. Thankfully, this only serves as the foundation for the main plot and information on our characters’ interplay. However, once the main story takes center stage, the screenplay remains consistent throughout. However, the show does slip up slightly with its pacing. Some of the scenes are like never-ending loops as they never reach any climax, but perhaps that is how they were positioned to lay the groundwork for the upcoming season.
Adaptations can be tricky, but this one feels quite well-fitted in the Indian context. So, if you, like me, have not watched the original, there is little to worry. Overall, series successfully blends multiple genres like romance, drama and action-packed thriller together without getting lost in its complicated plot. It has a captivating and compelling build-up that will keep you guessing. Watch it for the performances, build-up and thought process. My view on this web-series Highly Recommended
