Dream11 IPL Match 55: DC and RCB qualify for the play-offs. Now I will share the details of this IPL game match in my way.

55th Game (Royal Challengers Bangalore Vs Delhi Capitals)
Game Date: 2nd Nov 2020
Details:
Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to field first in the 55th game of IPL 2020. DC included Kagiso Rabada, Marcus Stoinis, Daniel Sams and Anrich Nortjé as four foreign players for this game. Three changes in playing XI and they have included Axar Patel, Ajinkya Rahane and Daniel Sams in place of Hashal Patel, Praveen Dubey and Shimron Hetymer.

Four foreign players of RCB for this game was AB de Villiers, Chris Morris, Isuru Udana and Josh Philippe. Two changes in playing XI as they have included Shivam Dube and Shahbaz Ahmed in place of Gurkeerat Singh Mann and injured Navdeep Saini.

Royal Challengers Bangalore scores 152/7 in their 20 overs which is below par score on this ground. Not the finish RCB would’ve hoped for after being put to bat. Roaring comeback by the DC in the second half. Rabada shrugged off his PowerPlay blues and gave his team the opening by scalping Philippe in the fifth over. Devdutt played some stylish strokes but didn’t really get support at the other end. Kohli struggled as Delhi’s spinners applied the choke after the 10 overs. RCB‘s captain couldn’t capitalize on the drop catch by Nortje as he fell sooner to Ashwin. The pitch slowed down as well to make the life of RCB’s batters difficult. Once Devdutt was dismissed after completing his fifty, AB and Dube made their presence felt with some lusty hits but they lost steam towards the end. Rabada and Nortje shared five spoils each and were the pick of the bowlers for DC. Devdutt Padikkal scored 50 runs of 41 balls and AB de Villiers scored 35 runs of 21 balls. For DC Nortje picks 3 wickets for 33 runs in his 4 overs.

Delhi Capitals successful chased down the target in 19 overs and qualify for the play-offs. No jitters in the chase. The experienced duo of Dhawan and Rahane put up a near 100-run stand after the early departure of Shaw and with Morris injury, RCB ran out of options with the ball. Though RCB tried their best with spin in the middle overs, the presence of dew and some good running between the wickets from DC batters ensured there’s no way back for RCB. Ajinkya Rahane scored 60 runs 46 balls and Shikhar Dhawan scored 54 in 41 balls. For RCB Shahbaz Ahmed picks 2 wickets for 26 runs in in his 4 overs

RCB: 152/7 in 20 overs
DC: 154/4/1 in 19 overs

Result: Delhi Capitals won by 6 wickets
Man of the Match: Anrich Nortje

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : Congratulations to DC for their clinical win and confirmed their 2nd slot for the play-offs. Now they will face the playoff game against MI on 5th Nov. This is great comeback by this team who lose 4 consecutive game on the bounce. Brilliant bowling by their all bowlers but today they will be happy the way they have finished the game. Excellent partnership between Rahane and Dhawan after early wicket. Overall this win will give them good confidence and would be extremely pleased to have broken the losing streak.

For Royal Challengers Bangalore only good thing is even after defeat they have qualified for the play-offs on the basis of net run rate. Definite problems to address in that batting department. Their batting machinery has creaked and groaned from last few games, before going completely kaput today against some spin and fast bowling. And this comes at a very tricky time in the tournament, where they can’t really make any drastic changes. They are totally dependent on Kohli and AB but their middle over need to support them. Special shoot out to debutant for his consistent performance in this season. Tomorrow it will decide who will play with RCB in 2nd qualifiers.

Stats

-Since 2019 Delhi Capitals have won all the encounters against RCB.

DC have lost a wicket in the opening over in eight of their 13 matches. Interestingly, the only side that hasn’t picked a wicket in their first over of bowling this season is RCB.
