CSK won by 9 wickets-cricketmovie.com

Dream11 IPL Match 53: KXIP is out of tournament after losing the game by 9 wickets against CSK. Now I will share the details of this IPL game match in my way.

53rd Game (Kings XI Punjab Vs Chennai Super Kings)
Game Date: 1st Nov 2020
Details:
Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to field first in the 53rd game of IPL 2020. CSK included Faf Du Plessis, Sam Curran, Imran Tahir and Lungi Ngidi as four foreign players for this game. Three changes in playing XI as they have included Faf Du Plessis, Imran Tahir and Shardul Thakur in place of Shane Watson, Mitchell Santner and Karn Sharma.

Four foreign players of KXIP for this game was Chris Gayle, Nicholas Pooran, Chris Jordan and Jimmy Neesham.. Two change in playing XI and they have included Mayank Agarwal and Jimmy Neesham in place of Arshdeep Singh and Glenn Maxwell.

Kings XI Punjab scores 153/6 in their 20 overs which is below par total on this ground. They floundered after a great start and their innings nosedived after the fall of the first wicket. But the blitzkrieg from Hooda provided them with the much needed impetus. He managed to score runs everywhere and particularly through the covers to tonk the CSK bowlers. Barring the minor blips towards the end, the CSK bowling looked pretty good but KXIP come back strongly in death overs and scored 57 runs in last 5 overs. Deepak Hooda scored 62* of 30 balls and KL Rahul scored 29 of 27 balls. For CSK Lungi Ngidi picks 3 wickets for 39 runs in 4 overs.

Chennai Super Kings chased down the target successfully. Faf and Gaikwad didn’t allow any of the Punjab seamers to settle and scored 57 in the powerplay. Hooda put down a tough chance, an umpire review didn’t go Punjab’s way and finally in the tenth over, Jordan showed us that a KXIP bowler can dismiss a CSK batter. However, that wicket came too late. CSK saw off the two leggies without giving them any wickets and Gaikwad showed his class. The 23-year-old was involved in two half-ton partnerships and brought up his third successive fifty. Also, he remained unbeaten to take his team over the line. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 62* of 49 balls and Faf du Plessis scored 48 of 34 balls. For CSK Chris Jordan picks 1 wicket for 31 runs in his 3 overs.

KXIP: 153/6 in 20 overs
CSK: 154/1 in 18.5 overs

Result: CSK won by 9 wickets
Man of the Match: Ruturaj Gaikwad

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : Congratulations to CSK for their back to back wins and finish the season with a bang. Their batting machinery has creaked and groaned throughout the season, but from last 3 games they have done pretty well and chased down the target with good partnerships in top order. Their campaign was coming apart brick by brick so far, just a dramatic representation of the fall we’ve seen this season. They have lot of plenty of good positives despite not qualify for the play-offs.

For KXIP batting was only good in power plays and death overs. After losing the wicket of Mayank they looks very defensive in middle overs and lose wickets in regular interval that cost the game but all thanks to Hooda and due to his brilliant innings team reach to a good total. KXIP bowlers who let them down and this happens many times in this season. Batsmen score runs but bowlers unable to defend except few games. With this loss they are out of tournament. Now they need to focus on their bowling unit for next season for their chances.

Stats

– This is Ravindra Jadeja‘s best IPL season with the bat – among Indian players, only Hardik Pandya has a better Strike Rate than Jadeja. Contrastingly, it has also been Jadeja’s worst season with the ball – with just five wickets to his name.

CSK have a 13-9 lead in head-to-head encounters against KXIP.

– This has been MS Dhoni‘s worst season with the bat: Fewest runs (200), Lowest average (25.00), second-lowest SR (116.27, only marginally better than his 116 for RPS in 2017), fewest sixes (7) and no Man of the Match awards (also happened in 2015).

KL Rahul has scored at a SR of 123.56 in the PowerPlay and 122.33 in the middle phase. Though his death-overs SR is 188.67 – it is helped by the fact that he scored at 310.00 in that phase against RCB. His death-overs SR in other games is a lowly 117.50.
