KXIP won by 12 runs-cricketmovie.com

Dream11 IPL Match 43: SRH is almost out of the IPL after losing a close encounter against KXIP by 12 runs. Now I will share the details of this IPL game match in my way.

43rd Game (Kings XI Punjab Vs Sunrisers Hyderabad)
Game Date: 24th Oct 2020
Details:
Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner won the toss and elected to field first in the 43rd game of IPL 2020. SRH included Jonny Bairstow, Rashid Khan, David Warner and Jason Holder as four foreign players for this game. One change in their team and they have included Khaleel Ahmed in place of Shahbaz Nadeem.

Four foreign players of KXIP for this game was Chris Gayle, Glenn Maxwell, Chris Jordan and Nicholas Pooran. Two changes in their playing squad and they have included Chris Jordan and Mandeep Singh in place of James Neesham and injured Mayank Agarwal.

Kings XI Punjab scores 126/7 in their 20 overs is lowest score on this ground in last 19 matches. Sharma set the tone in the powerplay, becoming the fourth fastest seamer to 100 IPL wickets with the wicket of Mandeep. KXIP really missed Agarwal‘s energy at the top today. Rahul and Gayle looked very subdued, taking their time to settle in. So when they fell back to back, they just took the run rate with them. It was left to Pooran again to salvage something out of a miserable innings, but he couldn’t get going today either, scoring his first boundary off his 19th ball.Top class bolwing by SRH to restrict KXIP in such low total. Nicholas Pooran scored 32* of 28 balls and KL Rahul scored 27 of 27 balls. For SRH Sharma, Holder and Rashid picks 2 wickets each.

Sunrisers Hyderabad chase though started off very well and openers did a partnership of 56 runs that too with good run rate and they had control in the game. After 2 quick wickets run rate was down but still till 16th over game was in control of SRH and needed only 27 runs in 24 balls with 7 wickets in hand. They got all out and lose the game by 12 runs. Special mention to Arshdeep mainly for not getting carried away and just sticking to slow and into the pitch stuff. This could have easily slipped out had he tried the glory path with the yorker. Jordan gave a boundary attempting the yorker, but to get Pandey, Holder and Rashid in the last few balls is a great feat. Bishnoi showed a lot of character squeezing the middle overs alongside Ashwin, who’s figures would have read a lot better. David Warner scored 35 runs 20 balls and Vijay Shankar scored 26 in 27 balls. For KXIP Jordan and Arshdeep picks 3 wickets each.

KXIP: 126/7 in 20 overs
SRH: 114 all out in 19.5 overs

Result: KXIP won by 12 runs
Man of the Match: Chris Jordan

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : Congratulations to KXIP for their consecutive wins. From being one time wooden spooners to four wins on the bounce, KXIP have ridden the creats and troughs in the IPL like no other. They have been able to turn the tide and that too against the three top ranked teams and now they are at no 5 from last position. Everything is going in favor of KXIP this time as bowlers are not giving runs in death overs and middle order batting is improving and most important finishing the game. They surely have momentum with them now and need to carry for their further games as well.

Bad luck for SRH today. After top-class bowling effort against batsmen an restrict them to just 126 runs and and needed only 27 runs in 4 overs with 7 wickets in hand still lost the game with 12 runs. Middle order batsmen unable to handle the pressure of chasing runs and that hurt them badly. Fantastic start given by openers and good slow but steady partnership happened between Pandey and Shankar but once he got out after brilliant catch equation changed completely. KXIP understood the conditions really well. Just took pace off and bowled into the pitch to make it tough for batsmen and SRH just panicked. Ones and twos would have got them home, but they didn’t hit the gaps enough and played some poor shots to fielders. Now they have only 3 games in this season and now almost out of this tournament unless any miracle happens.
