DC won by 5 wickets-Cricketmovie.com

Dream11 IPL Match 34: Shikhar Dhawan unbeaten century help DC to win by 5 wickets against CSK and regain top position. Now I will share the details of this IPL game match in my way.

34th Game (Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals)
Game Date: 17 Oct 2020
Details:
Chennai Super Kings Skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first in the 34th game of IPL 2020. CSK included Faf Du Plessis, Shane Watson, Dwayne Bravo and Sam Curran as four foreign players for this game. One change in CSK playing XI and they have included Kedar Jadhav in place of Piyush Chawla.

Four foreign players of DC for this game was Alex Carey, Marcus Stoinis, Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortjé. No changes in DC playing XI. Rishabh Pant is still not fit so Shimron Hetymer is also not playing due to only one wicket keeper so DC should replace injured Ishant Sharma with a Indian wicket-keeper so they play Hetymer in playing XI. Not sure at the moment when Pant can return to action.

Chennai Super Kings scores 179/4 in their 20 overs. Rabada and Nortje one of the best pace-duo this season have conceded 32 off the last two overs. They opened with Curran again but that didn’t work as the all-rounder fell for a 3-ball duck. Watson and Faf batted judiciously and set the platform for the middle-and-lower-order to go berserk. Rayudu did struggle for a while when he was charging down the pitch against all the deliveries. But, once he got his eye in, he played a gem of an innings. Jadeja upset the applecart with yet another cameo. He’s making it a habit scoring crucial runs and at a quick pace in the death overs. Faf Du Plessis scored 57 of 33 balls and Ambati Rayudu scored 45* of 25 balls. For RR Anrich Nortje picks 2 wickets for 44 runs in his 4 overs quota.

Delhi Capitals chase was poor as they lost 2 quick wickets in power plays but steady partnership between Dhawan and Iyer gives them hope for chase but lose quick wickets again but Dhawan appeared to bat on a different surface and keep scoring runs and hit his 1st T20 century but brilliant 19th over from Curran put DC under pressure as they needed 17 runs in last over. Bravo wasn’t available on the park, forcing Dhoni to go with Jadeja against two left-handers. His only other option was maybe Karn. The result Axar smashed three sixes to take DC home with one ball remaining. Shikhar Dhawan scored 101* runs 58 balls and Marcus Stoinis scored 24 in 14 balls. For CSK Deepak Chahar picks 2 wickets for 18 runs in his 4 overs.

CSK: 179/4 in 20 overs
DC: 185/5 in 19.5 overs

Result: Delhi Capitals won by 5 wickets
Man of the Match: Shikhar Dhawan

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : First of congratulations to DC for their win and become top in the points table again. Team is showing a complete team effort should be. Today top and middle order batsmen score runs but lower order unable to use death overs is concern for team. For the first time in this season Delhi’s bowlers given away good amount of runs in death overs which gives CSK a respective total. But today was Dhawan day he also get lucky as 3 catches drop but played brilliantly with good strike rate and at last magnificent cameo from Akshar takes DC home. They are all set to qualify for the play off’s just need to maintain the momentum.

Chennai SUper Kings after losing the wicket the Sam Curran played brilliantly and special cameo and brilliant batting by Rayudu after slow start gives them a good total on this ground but poor fielding because dropped 3 catches of Dhawan and injured Bravo cost the game for CSK as they need to defend 17 runs in last overs but due to Bravo injury Jadeja bowled it and given way 3 sixes. Now they need win all 5 games for any chance to qualify in the playoffs which is tough for them.
