Release Date: 20th August 2021 (MX Player and ALT Balaji)
Duration: 14 Episodes/ 35 Minutes

Story: Series is set in Mumbai and revolves around the gangsters who are ruling the city with their underworld business. And the reason Mumbai hasn’t faced any gang-related violence in the last 15 years is due to the understanding that Rani Maai (Supriya Pathak) had put forth with the other gang leaders; Anna (Kannan Arunachalam), Gajraj (Shubhrajyoti Barat), Chairman (Ashwath Bhatt) and Khan (Anil George). Their illegal business has been separated from their designated zones, with the stipulation that “no one will meddle with another person’s business.”

The Dharavi region is run by the slumlord Raghunath Shetty aka Anna, Gajraj Yadav is based in the central suburbs and controlling the taxi and auto unions while also running a racket of all the beggars in the area. All things Bollywood and cricket are handled by Chairman, the smuggling, arms and drugs are dealt by Khan and finally the boss of Aarey and the architect of the peace agreement is Rani Mai the matriarch of the Angre gang.

Rani Maai is a powerful woman in her own right. She relies heavily on the shoulders of her two nephews Madhukar Mhatre aka Madhu Bhau (Jitendra Joshi) and Arjun Mhatre aka Major Bhau (Tanuj Virwani) whom she treats like her sons and also she a son Abhay Angre (Ritvik Dhanjani) and daughter Sumi (Pranati Rai Prakash). When Rani Maai is shot in her own warehouse, leaving her in a coma it’s up to her three sons to rise to the occasion to seek revenge while keeping their business afloat in the face of other crime lords.

Nevelle Dorabjee (Samir Soni) is the mastermind behind Rani Maai attack with the help of one of 4 gang leaders. You need to watch this series to know who is dorabjee and why he wanted to kill Maai. Which gang leader breaks the treaty.

2. Climax
3. Story
4. Screenplay
5. Direction
6. Background Music

Negatives
1. 1st Half
2. Length
3. Some unnecessary plot

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I had watched the trailer of this series it looks average so planned to watch in my free times and today I have watched it and it’s very engrossing and captivating.

Set in Mumbai, Cartel is the story of 5 crime-lords based in different areas of the city. How they carry out their illegal operations & how political, judiciary & corporate bodies are closely intertwined with the underworld of contemporary times. The five gangs have lived with mutual cooperation and peace because of a treaty put forth by Rani Mai years ago. However a sudden turn of events creates an imbalance between the gangs and what happens next is what Cartel is all about

The initial episodes take a long time to introduce all of the characters and set up the overall premise. However, the later episodes pick up pace and up the thrill quotient by revealing how these crime lords carry out their illegal operations and how political, judicial, and corporate organizations are all connected with the underworld. All characters are created in such a way that viewers can relate to each one of them and the reasons for their conduct. This fictional series is fast-paced and practically every episode begins with a murder and the story behind it unfolds later in the show which is quite compelling. Even the background music is consistently catchy and sets the overall tone of the series. Finally the unexpected twists and turns ass well as the climactic battle, make for an exciting watch. My view on this web-series Highly Recommended but only with friends.
