Bro Review: Missed opportunity despite interesting theme and Pawan Kalyan charm
Bro Movie Rating: 1.5 Stars

Just watched Bro movie in Hindi on Netflix. Let’s focus on the complete details, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.

Cast: Pawan Kalyan, Sai Dharam Tej, Priya Prakash Varrier, Ketika Sharma, Brahmanandam and Subbaraju
Director:Samuthirakani
Release Date: 28th July 2023 in Cinemas & 25th August 2023 on Netflix

Story: It is an adaptation of the 2021 Tamil movie Vinodhaya Sitham. Movie revolves around Mark aka Markandeya (Sai Dharam Tej) is the head of his family despite his young age. He lives with his mother (Rohini) and two sisters Veena (Priya Prakash Varrier) and Gayathri (Yuva Lakshmi). He has a brother Arun (Surya Sreenivas) who lives in the US.

Mark is a corporate employee who is burdened with the responsibility of settling down his siblings. Whatever he says goes and whenever he berates them, his siblings see him as more of a father figure than a brother. He is in love with Ramya (Ketika Sharma) but he neither spends time with his lady love nor his family as he has a lot of responsibilities to deal with.

While coming back from a road trip meets with an accident and dies. Later that night, his soul meets Time God aka Titan (Pawan Kalyan). Upset Mark requests Titan to give him one more chance so that he can settle his family and then accompany him back to the heavens. Titan gives 90 days’ time and hangs around with him during this period. With 90 days in hand, Mark decides to ensure his family is well taken care of before he passes away. But did his family ever really need him to do that?

Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie in Hindi on OTT as trailer looks good and entertaining in parts.

Markandeya seems to always lack time because he feels burdened with the responsibility of looking after his family. What happens when Titan gives him a second lease of life?

Bro movie has a nice message which emphasizes that it is more important to live in the present than worry about the future. It is Pawan Kalyan’s show all the way. Right from his screen presence to his mannerisms, Pawan Kalyan has killed it in his mature yet entertaining role. The chemistry between the star uncle and nephew Jodi is on point and provides solid entertainment for the fans. The film has a wide scale and the manner in which time dictates things in our life has been showcased in a very good way. There are a few strong emotional scenes between Rohini and Tej which work well in the second half. The first half of the film keeps you hooked for the most part.

On the flipside, the film is weak on the emotional front as the relationship between Sai Dharam Tej’s character and his family isn’t showcased well. A few scenes looked artificial. Priya Prakash Varrier has nothing much to do in the film. Had the emotions been presented even better, the message could have been more impactful. In order to please the fans, the director added many references of Pawan Kalyan’s old songs. Though they are enjoyable initially, they become boring after a point in time. The movie doesn’t have a proper flow, and even a few decent scenes lacked impact due to their placement. Except for Bro title song, the other songs are a huge drawback in this biggie. The film’s tempo goes down further during these songs, and they add no value to the proceedings. There should have been solid drama to take things to a further level, but that didn’t happen here. A few bland scenes could have been edited out to make things interesting.

Overall, movie could’ve been the poignant tale of a man who had to grow up a little too fast and, in the process, forgets to make the most of his life. What you get instead is a film that loses steam as it progresses with the messaging lost in the chaos of it all. It is a fantasy drama that relies heavily on the performance of Pawan Kalyan. My view on this movie Not Recommended.
