Bholaa Movie Rating: 3.5 Stars
Just watched Bholaa movie in Cinemas. Let’s focus on the complete details, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.
Cast: Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Vineet Kumar, Deepak Dobariyal, Gajraj Rao & Sanjay Mishra
Director: Ajay Devgn
Release Date: 30th March 2023 in cinemas
Story: It is official remake of the Tamil hit Kaithi which revolves around a convict who has been set free after many years and is now excited that he would be meeting his daughter for the first time ever.
Movie begun when IPS officer Diana Joseph (Tabu) leads the police unit to capture Nithari (Vineet Kumar) who is the gang leader of Sikka Gang and confiscates a load of cocaine worth 1000 crores. She hides the drugs in the basement of the sprawling Lalganj Police Station. At night, she attends the retirement party of I G Jayant Malik (Kiran Kumar).
In a strange turn of events, all the 40 cops at the party faint one by one after drinking the spiked drink. Diana, who was injured, didn’t consume alcohol and she’s the only one on her feet. Nithari brother Ashwathama aka Ashu (Deepak Dobriyal) whose drugs she has confiscated, is determined to finish off the cops. He’s also all set to take back his drugs consignment.
Diana has only one choice to ask Bholaa (Ajay Devgn) to help her ferry the unconscious cops to the hospital before they die. Bholaa has just got released from jail after 10 years. He is all set to go to an orphanage to meet his daughter Jyoti (Hirva Trivedi) whom he has never seen before. Bholaa agrees when she promises to secure Jyoti’s future in return for his services. The truck journey begins.
Sadly, Ashu and his gang put several roadblocks in the 80-kilometer-long journey. The daredevil Bholaa not only transports the truckload of doctors to where medical care is available but also ensures the safety of Diana by fighting and eliminating the army of villains. But does Bholaa survive the ordeal? Does he finally meet his daughter?

Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie on release day because loved the trailer and also watched liked the original movie.
After 10 years of imprisonment, Bholaa is finally going home to meet his young daughter. However, his journey is not so simple as he soon faces a pathway full of crazy obstacles, with death lurking around every corner.
Bholaa is an interesting story which has an arresting emotional track of the father and daughter. Even the track of the police officer’s fight against the drug dealers is engaging and engrossing. The multiple tracks on which the drama moves keeps the audience hooked. The track of hawaldar Yadav and four college students is wonderful. Here, it must be added that the writers have not cared to explain the background of Devraj who is monitoring the movement of the truck, or things like how Bholaa’s wife passed away, which leave the viewers dissatisfied. The writers very intelligently switch lanes and move the drama on multiple tracks simultaneously, thereby not letting boredom creep in at any stage. What’s also interesting is that the various tracks are inter-related and hence the story as a whole move forward, whatever the track. The emotional track of the father and daughter is heart-rending. The action-filled climax, like the rest of the action scenes, is gruesome and very, very violent, and several action scenes are grotesque. This will limit the appeal of the film as ladies and family audience will find it difficult to sit through so much of violence.
Apart from performance, Ajay Devgn’s direction is also praiseworthy. He has handled the grandeur well. A few action scenes will take your breath away. It’s also heartening to see that the focus is not just on him, and the supporting characters also get a chance to shine. He has also put the effort in making the villains seem menacing while also providing them ample screentime to create an impact. On the flipside, it’s a remake which is available on YouTube in Hindi so most of us has already watched. Also, few action sequences are over the top which may not like by some section for audience.
Overall, it redefines the gold standard for the genre and delivers much more than original. The compelling action sequences, short and sharp dialogues, and stunning visuals make the film an epic action thriller. Barring the length and few shortcomings, one can enjoy the film throughout. It is a well-made film with its heart in the right place. My view on this movie Highly Recommended for action lovers.
