Details: South Africa skipper Aiden Markram again won the toss and but this time elected to field first in the 2nd game of ODI series against Team India at St George’s Park, Gqeberha. Rinku Singh become 401th player to debut for Team India and replaced Shreyas Iyer who joined Test Team now.

Team India bowled out for 211 runs in 46.2 overs after batting first. Disappointing batting effort from India. Yes, the surface is not a belter but it is certainly not a 211 kind of pitch. Sudharsan and Rahul showed that if you apply yourself then runs can be scored, but apart from those two none of the Indian batters were willing to battle it out. Most of them got starts but there was only one worthy partnership in the entire innings. Once that was broken the innings just fell apart. South Africa used the conditions perfectly. Burger set the tone by dismissing Gaikwad off the second ball of the innings. He was the standout bowler with 3/30 and was well aided by the others. The surface has some up and down bounce, some balls are bouncing while some are staying low, but the home team must be more familiar with the conditions and should fancy chasing this down. Sai Sudharsan scored 62 runs of 83 balls and skipper Kl Rahul scored 56 runs of 64 balls. For South Africa, Nandre Burger picked 3 wickets for 30 runs in his 10 overs quota.

South Africa successfully chase down the target by scoring 215/2 in 42.3 overs. A dominant chase this from South Africa. Set up by the young de Zorzi who has remained unbeaten and guided his side home. Chasing a modest 212, Arshdeep and Mukesh tested de Zorzi and Reeza but the openers survived the first spells which had a lot of plays and misses and inside-edges. Luck favored South Africa and once they saw through that phase, it was easy after that. There was no spin for both Axar and Kuldeep and the ball slid on nicely. de Zorzi put pressure on Kuldeep and hit him for sixes to make the task easier. Soon de Zorzi reached his maiden ODI ton and guided his side home despite the losses of Reeza and van der Dussen. After being totally outplayed at Johannesburg, South Africa have come storming back here in Gqeberha to set up a fantastic series decider in Paarl on Thursday. Tony de Zorzi scored 119* runs of 122 balls and Reeza Hendricks scored 52 runs of 81 balls. For Team India, Arshdeep & Rinku Singh picked 1 wicket each.
