BCCI announced the schedule of Team India upcoming home season in which they will play against Sri Lanka, New Zealand & Australia. India’s 2022-23, international home season will commence with a three-match T20I & three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka in January.
The last time Sri Lanka toured India for T20Is was in February 2022, a series that India comfortably won 3-0. The visitors will be playing an ODI series in India for the first time since 2017, when the hosts won the contest 2-1.

The action will then move to a three-match ODI series against New Zealand wherein Hyderabad, Raipur and Indore will play hosts. The second ODI on 21st January will be a marquee ODI for the city of Raipur as they will host their first international fixture at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium.
Team India will also play a three-match T20I series against New Zealand with the series running until February 1. India has a strong record against the Black Caps, defeating them in both ODIs and T20Is the last time they visited India.

Australia will then follow for a long tour comprising both red and white-ball cricket. The Mastercard Australia tour of India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will kickstart in Nagpur from the 9th of February. Team India will then play the next three Test matches in Delhi, Dharamsala & Ahmedabad. This will also be the last edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy which will be a 4-match Test series feature before it becomes a five-Test contest.
India are the current holders of the Border-Gavaskar trophy, having achieved a historic victory in Australia in 2020-21. The series will also play a pivotal role in deciding the finalists of the ICC World Test Championship 2021/23.
