Story: Movie revolved around Saloni Bagga (Triptii Dimri) is a chef at an upscale restaurant. Her dream is to win a Meraki star. She meets Akhil Chadha (Vicky Kaushal) and they hit it off immediately and get married soon. However, soon problems arise in their marriage, one of which causes her restaurant to lose its Meraki star and subsequently get her fired. As a result of these problems, the couple decided to get divorced.

Saloni then relocates to Mussoorie to work at a restaurant owned by Gurbir Singh Pannu (Ammy Virk). After a chain of events, a drunk Saloni ends up having a one-night stand with Gurbir. That same night, Akhil shows up at her room, wanting her back and they end up having a one-night stand as well.

Sometime later, it turns out that Saloni is pregnant with the babies of both, Akhil and Gurbir. Life poses a super tough challenge at Saloni when she is forced to choose between the two men and their respective (unborn) children. Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie in cinemas in my free time as loved the unique concept and trailer.

Movie revolves around heteropaternal superfecundation which is a reproductive process in which twins are born to the same mother, but from different biological fathers

Bad Newz has a very unusual story. It does have novelty value, but it is also a fact that the moral aspect of the problem can pose a problem for the more orthodox audience. It could have been a compelling drama about human follies. But it’s not well put together. The dialogue is indeed witty and would bring a smile to your face, as would the inside jokes. The most hilarious scene in the film is when Saloni’s family doesn’t listen to her rant as they’re busy watching a reality show featuring none other than Karan Johar. What other works in the film’s Favour is the fresh pairing of Vicky Kaushal and Triptii Dimri. Besides that, the cinematography is top-notch. Even the film’s songs help in maintaining the pace of the film’s narrative. Anand Tiwari’s direction is mature. Given the limitations in the script, Tiwari has handled the subject with conviction.

On the flipside, film’s pacing suffers from a rushed first act, as Akhil and Saloni’s romance, marriage, and subsequent split feel underdeveloped. Similarly, Saloni’s fling with Gurbir lacks depth and is unconvincing. Repetition in comedic situations and a predictable plot further hinder the film, especially in the second half, which feels overstretched. It even tries satire and parody, but the gags are so weak that they lose air before taking off. Screenplay could have been a bit tauter especially towards the middle of the film where the film tends to go a bit astray. The film also requires watertight editing at a bunch of places. The comedy at times feels forced. Bad Newz also becomes really melodramatic in a few portions, thus pulling the movie down quite a bit. The post-climax scene is hard to relate after all that happened in the climax. The makers’ attempt to end the film on a comedic-high, comes at the cost of the storytelling.

Overall, movie is an over-the-top comedy served well by credible performances by the three leads. It is an unadulterated fun entertainer with potential that’s left untapped. The concept of the film had much more scope for a deeper and broader messaging, but it gets reduced to a movie you watch for a few laughs and gags, before getting on with your life. My view on this movie Time Pass.
