Australia tour of England 2020 – Australia Won ODI Series by 2-1 after winning the third and final game of the series against England by 3 wickets last night at Emirates Old Trafford Manchester. Now I will share the details of each ODI match in my way.

1st ODI
Game Date: 11th Sept 2020
Details:
England won the toss and elected to field first in the 1st ODI against Australia. England included Jason Roy and Joe Root in the team while Australia rested Steven Smith due to injury.

Australia scored 294/9 in their 50 overs. Glenn Maxwell scored 77 of 59 and Mitchell Marcsh 73 of 100 balls while Jofra Archer and Mark Wood picks 3 wickets for England.

England were unable to chase the target and scored 275/9 in their 50 overs and lose the game by 19 runs. Sam Billings scored 118 of 110 balls and Jonny Bairstow84 of 107 balls. For Australia Adam Zampa and Josh Hazlewood picks 4 and 3 wickets respectively.

Adil Rashid picks 40 wickets against Australia which is most wicket for any England bowler in ODI’s surpassing James Anderson (38).

– Only twice has Jonny Bairstow faced more balls than he has so far in this innings (68) and not scored a century in ODIs

Sam Billings‘ 118 was the highest score in an unsuccessful ODI chase for England since Moeen Ali‘s 119 against Sri Lanka in 2014.

2nd ODI
Game Date: 13th September 2020
Details:
England won the toss in the 2nd ODI and elected to bat first against Australia. England included Sam Curran and Tom Curran in the playing squad while Australia team were remain unchanged.

England scored 231/9 in their 50 overs after batting first. Eoin Morganscored 42 of 52 and Adil Rashid scored 35 of 26 balls. From Australia Adam Zampa and Mitchell Starc picks 3 and 2 wickets respectively.

England mounted an incredible fightback to level the series and won the game by 24 runs as at one time Australia were 144-2 and they were all out for 207 runs while England were 149/8 at one time they were managed to get 231/9 in their 50 overs.Aaron Finch scored 73 of 105 balls and Marnus Labuschagne scored 48 of 59 balls. For England Chris Woakes, Jofra Archer and Sam Curran picks 3 wickets each.

ENG: 231/9 in 50 overs
AUS: 207 all out in 48.4 overs

England haven’t lost a bilateral ODI series at home since 2015, when they lost 3-2 to Australia. Since then, they have won nine series in a row.

– This is just the eighth time England have put on 50 for the ninth wicket in men’s ODIs.

Jofra Archer has dismissed David Warner each of the four times the Aussie opener has batted on this tour.

3rd ODI
Game Date: 16th September 2020
Details:
England won the toss and elected to bat first in 3rd and final ODI against Australia. They made one change in their team and include Mark Wood in place of Sam Curran. Australian team remain unchanged for the game.

England scored 302/7 in their 50 overs after batting first. Jonny Bairstow scored 112 of 126 balls and Sam Billings scored 57 of 58 balls. For Australia Adam Zampa and Mitchell Starc picks 3 wickets each.

Australia successfully chased by scoring 305/7 in 49.4 overs and won the game by 3 wickets and won the series 2-1. At one time they were 73/5 but Alex Carey and Glenn Maxwell centuries and record double century partnership help Australia in thrilling run chase.

Jonny Bairstrow scored 10 ODI hundred for England in ODI’s only less than Eoin Morgan, Joe Root, and Marcus Trescothick.

Adam Zampa is the first bowler to take 10 wickets in a three-match ODI series for Australia.

Glenn Maxwell has become the 23rd player to score 3️000 runs in men’s ODIs for Australia.

– 212 runs is Australia’s biggest ODI partnership in England, and the third-highest for the sixth wicket in ODI history

– Australia are the first visiting team to win a bilateral ODI series in England since Australia in 2015
