Attack Review: Despite novel concept film failed to become wholesome entertainer due to poor VFX and screenplay
Attack Movie Rating: 2.5 Stars
Just watched Attack movie in Cinemas. So let’s focus on the complete details, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.
Cast: John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez, Rakul Preet Singh, Prakash Raj and Ratna Pathak Shah
Director: Lakshya Raj Anand
Release Date: 1st April in Cinemas
Story: It is the story of a India’s first super soldier who fights a dreaded terrorist and his team with the help of AI. In 2010, army officer Arjun Shergill (John Abraham) and his team infiltrates a terrorist camp and nabs a dreaded terrorist, Rahman Gul. His teenage son, Hamid Gul, is found with a suicide bomb. Arjun defuses it and allows Hamid to survive.
In the present day, Arjun meets Ayesha (Jacqueline Fernandez) who is an airhostess and fall for each other and begin a romantic relationship. One day, Arjun goes to receive Ayesha at the airport. This is when terrorists make a surprise attack. Ayesha is killed in the mayhem and he becomes wheelchair-bound when he is hit in his spinal cord by a bullet.
Arjun mother (Ratna Pathak Shah) is taking care of his son at home. Due to these rising threats, Subramaniam (Prakash Jha) suggests that a super soldier program be initiated. As per this program, a chip will be surgically implanted in a paralyzed soldier only Arjun selected for this program. Chip is inserted into Arjun’s brain by Dr. Sabah Qureshi (Rakul Preet Singh) who has developed the AI technology.
After few days, dreaded terrorist Hamid Gul (Elham Ehsas) held the Prime Minister and hundreds of Parliamentarians in the Indian parliament including Saba. Since there are limitations to what AI can do, there are many moments of tension when it fails at crucial junctures. How Arjun able to succeed in this mission is rest of the story.
Positives
1. Excellent Performances
2. Climax
3. Story
4. Music

4. Direction
Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie in cinemas because trailer looks good and it is about India’s first super soldier, also music is excellent.
With the Parliament under siege, India’s first super soldier Arjun Shergill is tasked to get hold of the terrorists in the nick of time, save the Prime Minister from their clutches and stop a dirty bomb from exploding and destroying Delhi. Will Arjun succeed in his mission?
Attack story is fairly nice as it at least offers something new to the audience because a drama which has AI as its base and No Bollywood film has ever tackled this idea. However the screenplay is below the mark. At times, it gives the audience the feeling that the drama has been oversimplified. But even this oversimplified drama would not hold the interest of a section of the viewers because it is too technical. But except for a brief romantic track of Arjun and Ayesha, there is not much else as a diversion for the audience.
Direction is also mediocre as they not been able to make a wholesome entertainer as he has excluded even some basic and necessary elements like patriotism, sentiments and comedy from the narration. On the plus side, there’s plenty of action for the masses and lovers of action dramas. The novelty factor (extensive AI) is another positive point of the drama but it comes with its limitations. Songs of this film are good and background is amazing. It will be patronized by the masses but will not be liked by the classes, womenfolk and families. Overall movie works due to the novel concept, action, VFX and John Abraham’s first-rate performance. My view on this movie Recommended.
