Story: Rinku (Sara Ali Khan) loves a boy whose name she is unwilling to reveal to her family comprising her maternal grandmother (Seema Biswas) and her maternal uncles and aunts. Her parents had been killed by the family because the mother had married a Muslim boy. Rinku has tried to elope with her boyfriend Sajjad (Akshay Kumar) a number of times but the family has managed to bring her back home.

After her latest failed elopement maternal grandmother ells her family to get her married with any man available, preferably someone from outside Bihar. Her family members spot Vishu (Dhanush) in their town who is medical student who has come to Siwan for a camp. Vishu is due to get engaged to Mandy (Dimple Hayathi) in Madras two days later. Rinku’s family abducts him and forces him to get married to Rinku. The next day, they book a ticket for them on a train to Delhi.

Both Rinku and Vishu are against the forced marriage and they decide to go their separate ways soon after they are packed off to Delhi post-marriage. Rinku tells him that Sajjad has gone to Africa to study magic and that he’ll return in 10 days. So Rinku accompanies Vishu to Madras for his engagement but on the day of the engagement, Mandy gets to know about Vishu and Rinku’s marriage and therefore, the engagement is called off by Mandy and her parents.

However, that’s not the end of Rinku and Vishu’s relationship. Vishu gets to know a fact about Rinku which disturbs him. What is that fact? And what happens to Rinku’s boyfriend? Does Vishu ensure that Rinku unites with her beloved or does he now yearn to be with Rinku?

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie on the day of release because loved the trailer of this film and earlier watched Dhanush and Aanand L Rai starrer Raanjhanaa which is one of the best film I have seen.

Rinku Sooryavanshi has a penchant for running away from her home in Siwan, Bihar. Vishu is a Tamilian who is pursuing his doctorate in medicine in Delhi. He gets kidnapped by her relatives when he comes to Bihar on a medical camp and both are drugged and married thereafter. The snag is that Vishu is all set to be married to Mandy soon. And Rinku is in love with a magician called Sajjad Ali Khan. They come to an understanding that she’ll accompany Vishu to his engagement in Tamil Nadu, and they’ll part ways when Sajjad comes back from Africa. But due to circumstances, things don’t go well as planned. Mandy breaks off the engagement after learning of the truth, Vishu develops feelings for Rinku, who in turn finds herself to be in love with both Vishu and Sajjad.

Atrangi Re an unusual story which appeals for its uniqueness but that’s about all. Screenplay has a lot of holes as a result of which a number of questions, which crop up in the viewer’s mind, remain unanswered. For instance, why does Vishu offer to take Rinku along with him for his engagement, after Rinku and he have decided to go their separate ways. Worse still, why does Vishu’s psychiatrist-friend, Madhusudan tell Vishu to hide the fact about his forced marriage with Rinku from Mandy? It is not as if Vishu had married Rinku of his own free will. Also the reason why Vishu wants to solve Rinku’s problem is not clear because within few days how he falls for her even she has a long time girlfriend.

Resultantly, the entire drama after the break-up of Vishu and Mandy’s engagement looks unconvincing. The screenplay is unable to make the characters endearing. Rinku fails to make a place for herself in people’s hearts. Her boyfriend also does not endear himself to the audience. On the whole, movie rests on a very unconventional plot. But it addresses a pertinent topic, that is, mental health which is tackled with sensitivity. Also, the performances, the musical score and several well-executed scenes turn the film into a watchable fare.My view on this movie Time Pass only if you are interested to watch a refreshing story.
