Team India bowled out for 213 runs in 49.1 after batting first. All 10 wickets to spinners. First time that India have been on the receiving end of that. Also 14th match in a row that Sri Lanka have bowled out their opposition in ODIs. What a turnaround from 80/0. India seemed to be cruising to a big total again but on came Dunith Wellalage and he changed things around. Got the top 3 and then the important wickets of KL Rahul and Hardik. But the surprise was Asalanka’s offbreaks who complemented Wellalage with a four-fer. The pitch helped the spinners and it turned quickly too. Shanaka realised that and threw the ball to both DdS and Asalanka and the latter paid back the faith with a fine effort. It’s not an easy pitch at all but how will it behave under lights? Will it change? Or be the same? India too have three spinners tonight so expect them to introduce spin early. Should be a rivetting chase. Rohit Sharma scored 53 runs of 48 balls and KL Rahul scored 39 runs of 44 balls. For Sri Lanka, Dunith Wellalage picked 5 wickets for 40 runs in his 10 overs quota.

Sri Lanka unable to chase the target and bowled out for 172 runs in 41.3 overs and lost the game by 41 runs. India it is who end the 13-match winning run of Sri Lanka in ODIs. The pitch was not an easy one and as such chasing 214 was not going to be easy. Bumrah and Siraj took 3 quick wickets to dent the top-order and then when Sadeera and Asalanka were forging a stand, Kuldeep Yadav came on and broke that. Then Jadeja took over to reduce Sri Lanka to 99/6 but DdS and Wellalage brought their side back into it with a 63-run stand. At that stage it was Sri Lanka who were slightly ahead but DdS in trying to hit a boundary holed out and despite Wellalage hanging in there, the others caved in. The pitch did not help the spinners as much as it did in the first innings, but India were relentless with their attack and fielding. A total team effort as one saw everyone switched on with Kohli often giving Rohit advice. With this win, India are into the final. Sri Lanka on the other hand had a great winning run but it has ended today against a very good Indian side. Dunith Wellalage scored 42* of 46 balls and Dhananjaya de Silva scored 41 runs of 66 balls. For Team India, Kuldeep Yadav picked 4 wickets for 43 runs in his 9.3 overs.
