Amazon Prime Video biggest announcement: 9 movies in 5 languages. Yes, you have heard after Disney Plus Hotstar and Netflix today Amazon Prime Video have announced 9 highly anticipated movies to release within in 2 months.
After seven months since COVID-19 lockdown was imposed across the country, cinema halls and multiplexes in various parts of the nation are now all set to reopen from October 15 as per the new Unlock 5 guidelines. Amid this, Amazon Prime has announced a new slate of 9 films which will premiere directly on its digital platform.
This suggests that producers aren’t sure that audiences will flock to theatres, with the coronavirus pandemic still raging across India and and consider straight-to-streaming to be a safer route to recoup their money.
For audiences OTT is like a new cinema halls after the lockdown, they are sure enjoying different contents and this time they have movies in multiple languages that means Amazon is targeting the audiences of all over the world with language of their choices.
Here are the list of movies, which all are announce by Amazon Prime Video with it’s release date and language
1. Halal Love Story (Malayalam) on October 15
2. Bheema Sena Nalamaharaja (Kannada) on October 29
3. Soorarai Pottru (Tamil) on October 30
4. Chhalaang (Hindi) on November 13
5. Manne Number 13 (Kannada) on November 19
6. Middle Class Melodies (Telugu) on November 20
7. Durgavati (Hindi) on December 11
8. Maara (Tamil) on December 17
9. Coolie No. 1 (Hindi) December 25

Director: Hansal Mehta
Details: The film is a unique social comedy based in a small town of Uttar Pradesh directed by Hansal Mehta and produced by Ajay Devgn, Luv Ranjan and T-series. Originally slated for a late January release, Chhalaang was delayed twice (first to March and then to June) before the pandemic struck. Trailer or teaser is not release yet so will add once release.

Cast: Bhumi Pednekar and Arshad Warshi
Director: Ashok
Details: Durgavati is a remake of the 2018 Anushka Shetty-led Telugu-language Bhaagamathie, with the original director G. Ashok helming the Hindi-language adaptation as well. Akshay Kumar is one of the producers of this movie. It narrates the story of an innocent government officer who is made the victim of a major conspiracy involving powerful forces. Cast: Varun Dhawan, Sara Ali Khan, Paresh Rawal, Javed Jaffrey, Johnny Lever and Rajpal Yadav
Director: David Dhawan

It will be interesting to see how after opening of theaters how audiences responds as per reports Reliance entertainment and other producers are planning to release their movies in December on big screens and for the first time there will clash with movies from OTT and big screen as I think Christmas weekend is very fruitful for Bollywood movies and since Coolie No.1 is set to premiere on Amazon Prime let’s see which big movie will release on big screen on Christmas. All in all interesting few months are coming for film industry.
