Aarya Season 2 Web Series Rating: 3.5 Stars

Just watched Aarya Season 3 series part 1 on Disney Plus Hotstar. So, let’s analyze the cast, release date, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this web series.

Cast: Sushmita Sen, Sikandar Kher, Vikas Kumar, Maya Sarao, Sohaila Kapur, Vishwajeet Pradhan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Indraneil Sengupta and Ila Arun
Director: Ram Madhvani, Kapil Sharma and Shraddha Pasi Jairath
Release Date: 3rd November 2023 (Hotstar)
Duration: 4 Episodes/ 35 Minutes

Story: The season 3 begins with a scene of Aarya Sareen (Sushmita Sen) getting shot but it soon takes you to the flashback. She is now navigating the world of illegal business while simultaneously caring for her three children, each struggling in their own way. Her son Veer (Viren Vazirani) is having an affair with Roop (Shweta Pasricha), the girl who assists Aarya in her drug business.

Her daughter Arundhati (Virti Vaghani) is now into poetry; and her youngest son is belligerent in school. The fallout from last season’s events hangs over her children, as Sooraj (Indraneil Sengupta) returns to India to avenge his wife Nandini (Charu Shankar) unintended murder at the hands of Aarya and her close friend Maya (Maya Sarao).

On the other hand, ACP Khan (Vikas Kumar) continues to be on her trail and trying to track her down. Aarya has cracked a deal big deal with the Russians and has to supply a huge consignment of heroin to them. But that’s not the only herculean task that she has to take up. Her aide has been shot dead, her children are going through their personal crisis as she rises to power, her best friend needs her for personal crisis.

Sooraj planned to hijack her consignment. There’s an introduction of a new female don, Nalini Sahiba (Ila Arun) who has a different track with the Russian mob in the drug cartel business. How she is connected with Aarya and how she deals with all this situation is all about this series.

Positives
1. Excellent Performances
2. Screenplay
3. Story
4. Direction
5. Background music

Negatives
1. Climax
2. Length
3. Only 4 episodes

Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I have watched the trailer of this series planned to watch on premiere day as loved the trailer of new season and also liked previous 2 seasons.

Aarya Sareen () is back to confront new and old enemies while forging new alliances in her quest for power. However, the dilemma arises as to whether she will be strong enough to protect her family just by rising to prominence as a result of the illicit enterprise or would this invite even greater danger to her and her loved ones.

Aarya is an official adaptation of the Dutch series Penoza which depicts the story of a woman who goes from being a housewife and mother to becoming a don. The plot continues to revolve around brutal killings, the quest for power, and shifting alliances. Aarya is on a path to becoming a dominant force in the criminal realm, forming strategic partnerships with the Russian mafia. Yet, her journey is fraught with obstacles, from new opponents in the drug trade to old foes seeking revenge. This sets the stage for a dramatic and life-changing chain of events. The show effectively uses music and poetry in the background to complement the narrative, adding depth to the storytelling. It places a strong emphasis on female empowerment and crime drama, with Sushmita Sen’s character exemplifying charisma and resilience. Others has given the strong performances. The screenplay efficiently propels the narrative forward, wasting no time in getting to the heart of the matter. The unpredictability of character alliances and allegiances lends a thrilling layer to the narrative.

On the flipside, it suffers from a plot that is clichéd and generic. It is mainly the treatment that makes the show a cut above the rest. There are several critical characters in the show that haven’t been explored enough, at least through the first four episodes of the third season. What’s essential for a series is to have strong sub-plots, but in case of Aarya 3, there isn’t anything exciting that’s brewing outside the main conflict. This results in lack of depth in the narrative. Lastly, the narration towards the end of the fourth episode acts as a major turn off. Releasing only 4 episodes from makers has disappointed all. Also, makers have taken many cinematic liberties. Like single shooter comes at Aarya place and shoot many of guards. Only 3 guards kidnapped Roop when Aarya is there with all her guards. Maya does not even see the face of Sooraj from whom they have danger.

Well, Aarya season 3 will be premiered in two-parts. The first part has four episodes, and they are very well narrated. The point that first part ends, it will surely make you eager to watch the part 2 of the series. Its part 1 is an engaging-thrilling series that leaves us wanting for more. Overall, new season maintains the show’s essence, fusing aspects of crime, family, and empowerment. My View on this web-series Recommended.
