Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this web-series, planned to watch this series in my free time as loved previous 3 seasons and a big fan of TVS shows. Piyush Prajapati is no longer the naive, fresh-faced rookie we once knew. Now leading a team at Synnotech, he faces his biggest challenge yet: navigating office politics, team anxieties, and the uncertainty of a potential acquisition by his dream company, PIC. As tensions rise and friendships are tested, Piyush must decide where his loyalties lie—with management or his friends.
There is something comforting about shows from TVF that have consistently tapped into a relatable space, one with respect to the age demographic that they cater to, and second the occupation of characters being the backdrop of the show. And at each stage, I have found my voice through a TVF show that not only has successfully transported me into their world but has also been successful in developing a karmic connection with at least one of the characters of the show. One such show is Cubicles, a seemingly light-hearted chronicles in the office space that has resonated with me over the years. Cubicles 4 explores the intricacies of corporate life with a mix of humor, poignancy, and relatability. It shines in its nuanced depiction of friendships formed in the workplace, showing how camaraderie can transform a challenging environment into a supportive one. The conversations and shared moments between Piyush and his team are authentic and heartwarming, serving as the show’s emotional anchor. The performances are major highlights like previous seasons. The ensemble cast continue to deliver strong performances, effortlessly stepping back into their roles. On the technical front, background score complements the narrative well, while title track Mere Mann Me Shor remains as memorable and impactful as ever.
The music and BGM beautifully blend with the mood of the drama while also efficiently being able to impart a subtle spree of emotions along the way. The cinematography comprises of frames that capture the essence of the corporate life really well. A little shoutout to the production design team for accurately portraying the world of the corporates, be it the cubicles, the PCs running the java programs, the meeting rooms or even the cafeteria all silently important characters of the world. The editing is crisp and sharp to ensure that the runtime of the show is kept in check without allowing lags to creep in. However, where the series falters are in its storytelling. While Cubicles S4 introduces fresh conflicts and characters, these elements often feel underdeveloped. Issues are resolved too quickly, robbing them of emotional weight and leaving the narrative feeling convenient and stagnant compared to earlier seasons. This lack of progression prevents the show from reaching the dramatic heights it aspires to.
Overall, series is a breezy watch that should be on your watch list irrespective of whether or not you have been a part of a corporate job. If you’ve ever worked in an office environment, this series will speak to you on a personal level. New season is a sincere and relatable depiction of corporate life, offering a heartfelt blend of humor, emotion, and realism. While its narrative structure could benefit from greater depth and tension, the series strong performances and genuine exploration of workplace relationships make it a worthwhile watch for fans of the genre. My view on this web-series is Highly Recommended.
