Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this web-series, planned to watch this series on premiere day as loved previous two seasons and big fan of this one.

With the Tripathi rule now having come to an end, Mirzapur is thrown into turmoil as the new young ruler grapples with the complexity of being King.

Mirzapur is a show that has garnered immense appreciation and a fanbase all over India. The makers infused a good amount of drama and twists to make this new season compelling, and they succeeded to an extent. The show will surely appeal to hardcore Mirzapur fans. The third installment highlights the battle between brain and brawn. The characters come up with some impressive tactics and clever moves to get themselves out of a troublesome situation. Viewers will be pleasantly surprised when the characters show their true colors, and this aspect is neatly presented. There are a fair number of interesting moments with stakes getting higher and tension escalating. The 10th episode is spectacular, and the show reaches its peak in the last half an hour as the makers throw multiple surprises. Season 3 entirely belongs to Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, and Anjumm Shharma. The trio has killed it with their superb performances, amplifying the impact multifold. The women get more prominence in the third season.

One of the biggest concerns of 3rd season is its excessive length. It packs in too much stuff, and at times, the crime drama turns exhausting. Absorbing so many details and following so many events will be difficult, and the viewers might also lose track of the goings-on. Few sub-plots are shown in detail, which hinders the interest factor. There are a few predictable moments as well, but one more major blemish is that the dialogues don’t pack the punch. The series continues to start slowing. The episodes are almost an hour long and the makers take their time to sit through a scene and let it simmer and reach its apex. This might be a problem for some viewers who might not want to stick to a show for almost 10 hours. It doesn’t have the wow-factor or something that would catch you completely off-guard. It plays pretty much on expected lines. While it’s not essentially a bad thing as long as it satisfies the fans of the show, one would wish for the stakes to match the anticipation. It has a few subplots that don’t add much to the story at large.

Overall, series is nowhere if compared to first two installments, but it is watchable due to the presence of some good twists and exhilarating performances. This one is only for its core fans but still they will be not satisfied with this 3rd season, but all can expect a better next season with shocking cliffhanger at the end. My view on this series Not Recommended
