Kohrra Review: Disappointing murder mystery drama despite good performances and noble story

Just watched Kohrra Web Series on Netflix. So, let’s analyze the cast, release date, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this web series.

Story: Set in Jagrana, Punjab and in one foggy morning, a youth discovers the body of an NRI named Paul (Vishal Handa) who had returned to his ancestral village for his wedding with Veera. However, days before the ceremony, he was brutally murdered. His best friend Liam (Ivantiy Novak) is also missing.
The cops investigating the case are Balbir Singh (Suvinder Vicky) and Amarpal Garundi (Barun Sobti). As they dive into the case, they learn that the victim is an NRI who returned to his hometown to marry. The news of the murder spreads rapidly, putting pressure on the police to solve the case.
The detectives delve deep into the lives of the dysfunctional families involved, uncovering a complex network of secrets and lies.
With each clue they uncover, Balbir and Garundi persistently pursue leads interrogate family members and piece together the events leading up to the murder. There are numerous skeletons that come out of the cupboard. Will the two cops finally be able to solve the crime is all about this series.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this web-series, planned to watch this series in my free time as looks like engaging crime thriller.
It follows two Punjab police officers, Balbir Singh and Amarpal Garundi, as they investigate the death of a young NRI who had travelled to the countryside to marry but was discovered dead on the eve of his wedding. As the story progresses, deception, deep dark secrets, and drama around the dynamics of dysfunctional families are revealed.
Kohrra is raw, rustic, real and gritty. It stays absolutely true to its meaning. The show is a slow burn relationship drama with the backdrop of a murder, that never loses grip even for a brief. The world that’s created is fascinating. It delves into themes like love, sexuality, class, migration and family through the course of the murder investigation, very effectively. The human dynamics are explored beautifully. The camera work and cinematography are brilliant. The heart and soul of this series are the actors. Suvinder Vicky delivers his career-best performance as Balbir Singh, a cop who is stuck between the case and a strained relationship with his family members. It offers a satisfying conclusion without leaving any cliffhangers or the promise of a second season. By the end of the series, when the true events are revealed, viewers experience a sense of relief. The show provides a clear and conclusive end, leaving the audience satisfied.
On the flipside, this series is a murder mystery and our mind seek resolutions. I spent my entire evening watching the show, hoping to know about the killer but the ending disappointed me. The series tries to justify the sub-plots but many of them were wasted. For example, Varun Sobti personal story could have been edited and leave it from the series since it does not add any values to the show. Slow screenplay and lengthy episodes tasted my patience, and few parts could have edited out for better impact. Overall, series disappoints me and now sure how critics liked this series. After watching good reviews, I watched this series but apart from story and performances everything nothings works for me. My view on this web-series is Not Recommended
