Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer planned to watch this series on premiere day as loved the trailer as it based on love and friendship.

Seven school friends -who thought that by the time they are 30 their life will be sorted- turn 30 to find that it’s a grand hot mess instead. They live, love, laugh, make mistakes, get their hearts broken, grow up a little but through it all discover that the best of friendships are imperfect and life is a luminous shade of grey.

Jee Karda tells the stories of seven childhood friends as they sail together into adulthood. Their unfailing connection enables them to face the challenges of life without fear and to live their lives according to their own conditions. They say what they think, whether by sharing their from vacation to abortion with their partner or discussing sexual relations before or after marriage. Each character tackles their individual problems while finding comfort and support in his or her group. The beauty of the show lies in their strong bond and how they learn to live their lives fully without being obliged to explain and justify their actions. These aren’t out-of-the-box concepts, but the way things are handled regarding these characters is pretty good. There are scenes that will reminisce the childhood memories spent with our friends. Hussain Dalal, who played Shahid, is someone one can relate to at some point in life. Though it is a web show, Sachin Jigar has composed some wonderful songs which will have a lasting impact. Every artist did a commendable job.

However, the series slowly turns into a regular outing which explores the lives of rich class youth with a less impact on the emotional side. The premise had the potential to be an enjoyable and compelling ride at the same time. However, the narrative falls short because of the lack of connectivity factor with the characters. If only the writing had been deeper and genuine, the overall effect of the show could have been better. The show is not aimed at everyone, as some stories deal with sensitive aspects. Jee Karda targets a niche audience, and hence others may find it boring too. A few characters should have been fleshed out in a better manner.

The series shows their journey from kids to adults, highlighting the value of friendship, self-assessment and facing the obstacles of life. Overall, series can be summed up as friendship, betrayal, relatability, predictability, and enjoyment. It has some relatable moments but appeals to a niche audience. If Jee Karda comes back with another season, it should pay more attention to substance, not just style. Although will find an appeal with the younger generations who can relate to the discussions and dilemmas of these pals. My view on this series Time Pass
