Ms. Marvel Episode 3 Review: Story does not move forward after history of the mystical bangle

Just watched Ms. Marvel Episode 3 in Hindi on Disney Plus Hotstar. Let’s analyze the cast, release date, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this web series.

Story: The third episode picks up right where the show ended last time, and we get to know more about the history of the mysterious bangle. Back in 1942, in British-occupied India, Najma (Nimra Bucha) looks for the bangle with Kamala’s great grandmother Aisha. When Aisha snaps it on, it appears to activate her powers. But they don’t have much time with the British Army on their tails, and the two women are separated. As Najma narrates this story to Kamala (Iman Vellani) in the present, she tells the young girl about their exile from another dimension.
Najma explains that she and Kamran (Rish Shah) are part of a group of enhanced beings known as Clandestines or Djinn who were exiled from the Noor dimension. She also reveals that the bangle might be able to help them return and asks for Kamala’s help. Kamala tells Bruno (Matt Lintz) about her origins, but he’s skeptical about her trying to help them with interdimensional travel without fully understanding it.
Bruno warns her that interdimensional travel could be dangerous, so she asks Kamran for more time to ensure that they can do it safely. Kamran assents, but Najma refuses to wait and decides to force Kamala to help them. Kamala’s brother Aamir (Saagar Shaikh) marries his fiancée Tyesha (Travina Springer), but Kamran crashes the wedding to warn Kamala before the other Clandestine arrive. Kamala, Bruno, and Kamran are overpowered by the Clandestine while Najma tries to use the bangle, which triggers a vision of a train.
The DODC agents arrive and capture the Clandestine, including Kamran. As Kamala and Bruno escape, Nakia (Yaseem Fletcher) sees Kamala using her powers. Sana contacts Kamala, revealing that she also saw the vision of the train and insisting that Kamala and Muneeba must visit her in Karachi.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I watched the trailer planned to watch the each episodes on its premiere date because of new superhero story and its connection to Captain Marvel next movie which will release in 2023.
A 16-year-old Pakistani-American high school student from Jersey City who is an aspiring artist and avid gamer, and writes superhero fan fiction about heroes such as Captain Marvel. Khan gains the ability to harness cosmic energy and create constructs from a magical bangle.
The celebration of South Asian culture continues as Kamala and her folks have a big desi wedding complete with elaborately choreographed Sangeet performances. But before that, both her mother and father talk to Kamala and Aamir about the importance of family. That sentiment rings close to home for Kamala as she tries to discover who she is, especially with the revelation that she could be a Djinn. Issues with the episode is that, after over 40 minutes of screentime, it simply feels that not much has happened to push the narrative forward. The Djinn unveil themselves to Kamala within five minutes, Kamala finds out they could be bad, and then the Djinn chase her. Hitting the halfway mark sees Ms. Marvel up the obstacles and challenges for the teenager, including discovering more about the origin of her great-grandmother’s mystical bracelet.
The third episode has set a better premise about the history of the mystical bangle and how everything goes back to the pre-Independence era of India, where it all started. It is a little overstuffed with exposition but is a fun ride from start to finish. Overall series has raised the stakes beyond a teenage action drama. It builds on crucial ingredients of ancestry and family, which most South Asians will relate to, while keeping the show’s unique flavor and tone intact. My view on this series Recommended
