Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I watched the trailer of 3rd season planned to watch in my free time because watched previous seasons and one was very good and 2nd was okay.
New season revolves around the megalomaniac baba, who continues to bend every rule to suit himself and has become a power-hungry adversary. This ‘badnaam’ Aashram continues to exploit women, indulge in the drug trade and control the politics of the town. On the other hand, Pammi is having sleepless nights to seek revenge from Bhagwaan Nirala. Will Ujagar Singh be able to help Pammi seek justice and expose the ‘badnaam’ Aashram?
Aashram Season 3 has no substantial changes and falters to keep us hooked. Soon after the quick recap and joining of dots from the season before, Jha struggles to stay on one single track—we have the tribal rebellion, there’s a faint sense of restlessness in primary characters and a certain someone climbing the ranks only to reveal later he/she is upto no good.In the three years, the story hasn’t moved past its original stories or characters, while more characters are added each season. The plot expands much like Babaji’s powers but it still remains in the same place, without any conclusion to any subplots either. Meanwhile, many subplots explore Babji’s lust for power and as he continues to influence more political parties and ends up with the power to change anything overnight.
The new season finally gave a detailed flashback of Baba Nirala aka Monty’s past explaining his original story. Despite being one of the biggest mysteries of the show, the makers give it a secondhand treatment. The shows depicted him as a mere thief who made his way to running an entire state without any chance for the audience to understand him. The show attempts to keep the audience engaged by distracting subplots. The monotonous treatment of a subject that’s been dragged for 2 seasons is the major issue with the story writers at the PJP team aren’t able to solve yet.
Though there’s a ray of hope for Aashram: Season 4 because as per tradition we not only get to see the trailer in the end, it now actually seems the show is at least going somewhere. Though my hopes will be burdened by the disappointment of the last 2 seasons. Overall, it moves at a snail’s pace unable to resolve any of the plots or subplots that began in season 1. Episodes drag on and blend together as the same plotlines continue with more characters to keep track of. My view on this series Recommended only if you liked the previous seasons else skip this season as mysteries are not solved yet.
