Day 1.
Team India captain Virat Kohli won the toss in the 3rd test against England and decided to bat first at Headingley, Leeds.

Team India bowled out for just 78 runs in their first innings. Opener Rohit Sharma scored 19 runs and Ajinkya Rahane scored 18 runs. For England James Anderson pick 3 wickets.

England scored 120/0 at the end of day 1 and they have now lead of 42 runs with all 10 wickets in hand. Both openers are not on unbeaten half century

Virat Kohli has lost the toss in each of his eight Tests as the India captain in England. There’s only one instance of a captain losing more tosses in succession in a country in Tests – Nasser Hussain losing ten consecutive tosses between June 2000 and May 2002 in England.

England scored 423/8 in their first innings at the end of day 2 and now they have lead of 345 runs with 2 wickets in hand. Skipper Joe Root scored his 3rd century of this series. For India Mohammed Shami pick 3 wickets.

England bowled out for 432 runs in their 1st innings and they have lead of 354 runs. Skipper Joe Root scored 121 runs and Dawid Malan scored 70 runs. For India Mohammed Shami pick 4 wickets.

India scored 215/2 in their 2nd innings and they are still trailing by 139 runs. Cheteshwar Pujara scored unbeaten 91* and skipper Virat Kohli unbeaten 45* at the end of day 3.

– Fourth time Rohit Sharma has survived 100+ balls in this series. Among India’s openers in England, only Sunil Gavaskar has done it more often – 13 times in 28 innings.

Rohit Sharma is the third Indian opener to survive 100+ balls in each innings of a Test in England after Sunil Gavaskar (thrice) and Murali Vijay (Trent Bridge, 2014).
