Stuart Broad 500 wickets-Cricketmovie.com

Yes you have heard right Stuart Broad: latest entrant of 500 test wickets elite club today. Currently third and final test is playing between West Indies and England at Manchester and and today on final day he was able to this milestone after taking the wicket of Kraigg Brathwaite.

Many of us remembers him as bowler who had given away 6 sixes in a over bowled against Yuvraaj singh in a T20 match at Durban in way back 2007 in super 8 match played between India and England

He is overall only seventh bowler and fourth pacer who has taken 500 or more than test wickets in the history. After James Anderson he is 2nd England player to achieve this unique feat.

Sharing the list of bowlers who has taken 500 wickets in test cricket:

Bowler Date Tests Balls Days from debut Avg Victim

Shane Warne 12 Mar 04 108 30200 4454 25.51 Hashan Tillakaratne
M Muralitharan 16 Mar 04 87 29511 4219 22.78 Michael Kasprowicz
Glenn McGrath 21 Jul 05 110 25528 4270 21.12 Marcus Trescothick
Anil Kumble 11 Mar 06 105 32959 5694 28.88 Steve Harmison

Stuart Broad 28 Jul 20 140 28430 4616 27.98 Kraigg Brathwaite

He has taken 140 tests to claim 500 wickets which is most tests taken to achieve this milestone. Lowest test match taken by a pacer was Glenn McGrath who takes only 87 tests.

He bowled 28430 balls which is third fewest balls taken for 500 wickets after Glenn McGrath and James Anderson which is really incredible.

Apart from Anil Kumble no any Indian bowlers have taken 500 test wickets so far and hoping that in coming future we can see few more names from Team India. R. Ashwin will definitely join this feat sooner but I am interesting to wait and see which Indian pacer will join this elite club.
