Story: Loki is Marvel’s latest mini-series and it’s part of MCU phase 4 release. 1st Episode released today and you can watch it’s 5 more episodes on next 5 Wednesdays on Disney plus Hotstar VIP in Hindi dubbed. It takes place after the events of the film Avengers: Endgame (2019) in which an alternate version of Loki created a new timeline.
Series starts when when Iron Man, Hulk, Ant-Man, Captain America travel back in time to 2012 to collect the Space Stone from Loki’s Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame. One can remember that Loki had escaped with the Tesseract while he was being taken for imprisonment for his role in the Battle of New York.
Loki (Tom Hiddleston) lands with the Tesseract in Gobi deserts, Mongolia only to be arrested by a law-enforcing body called the Time Variance Authority (TVA). He is put in confinement under TVA where his superpowers cannot be used. He is accused of not just stealing the Tesseract and escaping but also for leading branching of timelines. The TVA’s work is to deal strictly with Time Variants like him and to maintain a seamless timeline.
He is sentenced to the TVA court where he is judged by Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) for his plead. Meanwhile, TVA’s officer M Mobius (Owen Wilson) convinces his superior Ravonna that Loki should not be convicted as he wants his help to deal with a mysterious Time variant who has been killing TVA’s soldiers and stealing devices that help in correcting timelines.
It takes Loki to a secret room where he questions Loki’s love of killing and hurting people. Loki sees his parents, Frigga and Odin die and his ultimate death by the Mad Titan Thanos. He realizes everything and ready to help in dealing with mysterious Time variant. Loki joins a TVA mission to the site of an attack by “the Variant” in 1985 Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He derails the mission by stalling and attempting to bargain his way into meeting the Time-Keepers, who created the TVA and the Sacred Timeline.
Mobius convinces Renslayer to give Loki another chance, and after doing research Loki theorizes that the Variant is hiding near apocalyptic events throughout time where their actions do not affect the timeline. Loki and Mobius confirm this possibility by visiting Pompeii in 79 AD, before deducing that the Variant is hiding during a hurricane in 2050 Alabama. Loki, Mobius, and TVA agents are ambushed there by the Variant who possesses the bodies of several locals and TVA agent Hunter B-15.
The Variant reveals herself to be a female version of Loki and rejects his offer to overthrow the Time-Keepers together. She sends the stolen reset charges to various points along the Sacred Timeline, creating numerous new branched timelines and throwing the TVA into disarray, before teleporting away. Loki decides to follow her.
The Variant arrives at the TVA to find the Time-Keepers, but is confronted by Loki. He uses a TemPad to teleport them both away from Renslayer. They arrive at 2077 Lamentis-1, a moon that is soon to be crushed by a planet and the TemPad runs out of power. Loki magically hides it and the Variant who goes by the alias Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) agrees to work with him to charge it. They sneak aboard a train bound for the ark, an evacuation spaceship, which they believe can recharge the TemPad. However, Loki gets drunk and starts a ruckus leading to a fight with guards who eventually throw him off the train.
Sylvie follows him, only to find the TemPad broken, and the duo decide to finish the journey on foot and commandeer the ark so they can use it to escape. Sylvie reveals that the TVA’s workers are all variants and were not created by the Time-Keepers as Mobius claimed. Loki and Sylvie fight their way through guards and a crowd of people attempting to board the ark, but meteors from the oncoming planet destroy the ark before they can board.
On Lamentis-1, Sylvie tells Loki that she escaped from the TVA as a child. They form a romantic bond which creates a unique branched timeline and alerts the TVA to find and arrest them before Lamentis-1 is destroyed. Mobius leaves Loki in a time loop of a memory of Sif. Sylvie unlocks B-15 memories (Wunmi Mosaku) to prove that B-15 is a variant. Renslayer tells Mobius that C-20 died from a mental breakdown, but Mobius finds a recording of Renslayer interrogating a mentally sound C-20 (Sasha Lane) who insists that the TVA workers are all variants.
Mobius frees Loki from the loop but Renslayer confronts them and has Mobius “pruned”. Renslayer takes Loki and Sylvie to the Time-Keepers who order Loki and Sylvie deleted. With B-15’s help, Loki and Sylvie defeat Renslayer and the Time-Keepers’ guards. Sylvie beheads one of the Time-Keepers, revealing them to be androids. A recovered Renslayer prunes Loki. Sylvie overpowers Renslayer and demands the truth. In a mid-credits scene Loki awakens in an unknown realm surrounded by several other Loki variants.
Renslayer tells Sylvie that Loki was sent to the Void at the end of time from which nothing has ever returned. They also deduce that the TVA’s true creator is hiding somewhere beyond the Void. TVA mascot Miss Minutes stalls for time until TVA troops surround Sylvie, who prunes herself. After interrogating B-15, Renslayer attempts to reach the TVA’s creator. Meanwhile the other Loki variants tell Loki that a massive cloud-like creature called Alioth destroys everything in the Void.
Boastful Loki betrays the other Lokis for a second Loki group which itself dissolves into infighting. Classic Loki (Richard E. Grant) helps Alligator Loki, Kid Loki (Jack Veal) and Loki escape and they eventually come across Mobius and Sylvie. After Mobius returns to the TVA using a TemPad that Sylvie had brought with her, she attempts to enchant Alioth. Classic Loki creates an illusion of Asgard to distract Alioth, sacrificing himself in the process. Loki and Sylvie successfully enchant Alioth together, and the creature shows them the way to a citadel beyond the Void.
Loki and Sylvie entered into palace where they meet He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors) who is creator is TVA. He explains the timeline concepts to them. On the other hand Ravonna and Mobius face off in the TVA and she apologises for pruning him. Cleverly, he and Hunter B-15 brought the Minutemen to the “real” Renslayer, aka the human she’s a variant of. The TVA has turned against her.
After listening Kang theory Sylvie tries to kill him but Loki stops her. She thinks Kang’s lying but Loki is worried about what would happen. Sylvie now believes he’s betraying her just wants the throne as ever and she send Loki to TVA and killed Kang. At TVA mobius unable to recognize Loki. He see a A big old statue of Kang in the middle there. Is that the new Kang that conquered everything?

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I watched the trailer planned to watch this series in my free time Loki is perhaps one of the most conflicting characters of Marvel.
Loki was when in Avengers: The Endgame when Iron Man, Hulk, Ant-Man, Captain America travel back in time to 2012 to collect the Space Stone from Loki’s Tesseract. One can remember that Loki had escaped with the Tesseract while he was being taken for imprisonment for his role in the Battle of New York. Well, Loki, the series takes it forward from there where Loki escapes only to be arrested by the Time Variance Authority. Apparently, Loki’s action was against the ‘sacred timeline’, and hence TVA in charge of defending any such mischief arrest him to be punished.
The first 2 episodes were very good and it keeps ask you more to know about TVA and lady loki. After 3rd episodes it keep you bore by it’s lengthy timing and unnecessary drama even romantic angle was not required between loki’s. Till the climax expectation was there that it will give you great finish but it fails miserably. My view on this web-series Time Pass if you are fan of Marvel else ignore it. !!
