Release Date: 22nd Jan 2021 on Netflix
Story: Movie is based on book of same name which is New York Times bestseller and 2008 Man Booker Prize-winning novel by Aravind Adiga.
Film beings when Balram Halwai (Adarsh Gourav) writes a mail to the Chinese Prime Minister who is coming to visit India to learn about its growing economy. He’s writing in 2010 from his position as a successful entrepreneur, but Balram has unique insight and narrate the story when he was born to a large poor family. Although he showed an early aptitude in school, he soon has to abandon his lessons to help support his family by working in the local tea shop due to his greedy Dadi (Kamlesh Gill).
His ambition was to become the driver of Ashok (Rajkummar Rao) who is the younger son of his village zamindar (Mahesh Manjrekar). Ashok has studied in America and is married to Pinky (Priyanka Chopra) an Indian girl born and raised in America. While the zamindar and his elder son (Vijay Maurya) treat Balram like he’s only a rung above being an animal and the only people who treat him as a human being are America returned Ashok and Pinky.
One night when Pinky hits and kills a child while driving drunk on her birthday, the family forced Balram to sign a confession saying he was at fault. This opens Belram’s eyes, leading him to realize nothing will ever change for him unless he makes it. He realizes the corrupt lengths they will go to trap him and save themselves. On the verge of losing everything, Balram rebels against a rigged and unequal system to rise up and become a new kind of master.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : > When I watched the trailer it looks very interesting due to it’s unique and always planned to watch this movie in my free time.
Movie start on fascinating note and it keep me engaged till the end. Balram (Adarsh Gourav) a self-made entrepreneur sits down to narrate his tale to a Chinese big wig through a mail in 2010. He begins from the time he lived in a rural village of Laxmangarh to his journey to Delhi and finally Bangalore. The story touches corruption, oppression, inequality, crime and several other evils of the society that the have nots go through and the haves are either dumb or find comfort in that.
Overall brilliant acting, Ramin’s gut-wrenching screen adaptation and crisp storytelling will definitely make this film a watch. My View on this movie Recommended!!
