Kaagaz Movie Review: Pankaj Tripathi and Satish Kaushik shines in this satirical comedy film

Just watched Kaagaz movie on Zee5 Premium. So let’s analyze the cast, release date, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.

Story: Movie is based on the real-life story of Bharat Lal, a farmer activist and a dead man (yes, the 2003 Ig Nobel Prize winner was declared dead on Kagaaz (paper) between 1975 and 1994.
Azamgarh-based bandmaster Bharat Lal (Pankaj Tripathi) and his family which includes his wife Rukmini (Monal Gajjar) and a son. On his wife’s insistence, when Bharat lands up at a bank to take a loan for business purpose, he realises to his horror that his paternal uncle and aunt in his ancestral village have bribed the clerk and declared him (Bharat Lal) dead, after which the plot of land, which is jointly owned by the family, is usurped by the uncle, aunt and their children.
After that Bharat Lal who now makes it his mission to prove that he is not dead. But the system wants proof of his ‘alive’ status as he is a dead person on government records. With the help of a jugaadu lawyer Sadhuram (Satish Kaushik), a news reporter Sonia (Neha Chauhan) and an opportunistic politician Ashrafi Devi (Mita Vashisht) he decides to fight the system to prove his existence. How Bharat Lal achieves the almost impossible is what the drama is all about.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : > When I watched the trailer was very impressed for it’s true story and two main factor Salman Khan and Pankaj Tripathi associated with this film.
Movie starts on fascinating note with the voiceover of Salman Khan reciting a poem which talks about how paper plays an important role in our lives. There is a band master named Bharat Lal (Pankaj Tripathi), who realizes that his family members conspired against him for the greed of a piece of land that he owned and he is now been declared dead officially. The starts his struggle of 18 years to prove that he actually alive and not a dead man.
Based on the incredible true story of Bharat Lal comes Kaagaz, a film that examines the systematic failure that is the social and political fabric of India. Overall ‘Kaagaz’ is a well-written, well-made and well-enacted satire which will win acclaim. My View on this movie Highly Recommended!!
