Naxalbari Web Series Review: An intriguing story on Naxalites
Naxalbari Web Series Review: 3 stars

Just watched Naxalbari Web Series on Zee5 Premium. So let’s analyze the cast, release date, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this web series.

Cast: Rajeev Khandelwal, Aamir Ali, Shakti Anand, Satyadeep Misra, Sreejita De, Tarun Arora and Tina Datta
Director: Partho Mitra
Release Date: 28th Nov 2020 (On Zee5 Premium)
Duration: 9 Episodes/ 22 Minutes

Story: The show begins with a ruling party MLA being killed in a bomb blast in Naxal-infested Gadchiroli. The mastermind behind this dastardly attack is Naxal leader Binu Atram (Shakti Anand). Binu has two loyal proteges Pahaan (Satyadeep Misra) and Prakruti (Sreejita De). All of them work at the orders of Baba (Aamir Ali) and you will only hear Baba’s voice throughout the show until his identity is revealed at the end which will blow your mind. All this is done to stop a big politician who is trying to buy their land for the purpose of mining.

Raghav (Rajeev Khandelwal) is a competent cop, but his father, the Police Commissioner of Mumbai, is tired of his wayward ways. transfers his son to Gadchiroli to investigate the blast and its link to Naxals to rough it out to learn the ropes of effective policing. Raghav shifted with his girl friend Ketki (Tina Datta) and colleague Mohit is his one true pillar of support. In the meanwhile, another top cop Pathak (Tarun Arora) who has been tracking the Naxalite movement for years, is also conducting a parallel probe into the same case.

Mohit is killed during the course of the investigation. This is when the fight becomes personal for Raghav and he’s now determined to get to the root of the Naxalism problem. The thrill quotient of the show goes up several notches when Raghav gets kidnapped by Naxalites. More secrets and shocking revelations come to the fore, including some that have to do with his own past.

The action-packed season ends on an extremely intriguing note, making you hope for the second season to come faster. It tells the tale with a difference as it we view it from the perspective of security forces who are on a mission to curtail the uprising that is brewing in Gadchiroli.

Positives
1. Rajeev Khandelwal and a strong supporting cast which excellent performance
2. Climax
3. Screenplay
4. Camera work
5. Background music

Negatives
1. Dialogues
2. Mediocre Direction
3. Story lacks novelty

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : Trailer of this web-series looks interesting and always loved realistic issues. So planned to watch this on release day.

Series start with very fascinating note when we see Raghav shoot someone and MLA get killed by Naxalies. Episodes will keep you hooked and you can easily able to connect with it. Best part of this series is it’s climax and last 2 episodes. Series end on cliffhanger and waiting for it’s second season now.

Overall a fast-paced show and engaging because of it’s performances, story and complex issues. My view on this web-series is Recommended.
