Chhalaang Movie Rating: 2.5 stars

Just watched Chhalaang movie on Amazon Prime Video. So let’s analyze the cast, release date, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.

Director: Hansal Mehta

Story: Chhalaang is a hilarious, yet inspirational journey of a PT Master from a semi government funded school in Northern India. Mahinder Hooda aka Montu (Rajkummar Rao) is a PTI (Physical Training Instructor) in Sir Chotu Ram School in Jhajjar, Haryana. Montu lives in Haryana with his father, who is lawyer Devendra Rana (Satish Kaushik), mother (Baljinder Kaur) and a younger brother Bablu (Naman Jain).

Montu is not quite interested in doing his job as he believes that sports are not going to help the students. He also indulges in other activities in school, one of them being assaulting couples roaming in a park. The school appoints a computer science teacher, Neelima (Nushrat Bharucha) whom Montu falls in love with. She also likes Montu but she is not head over heels in love with him.

The school appoints one more PT teacher, I.M. Singh (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub) who is a certified sports trainer. Not only that, the principal (Ila Arun) also asks Montu to assist him that doesn’t go down too well with Montu. Inder arrives and starts giving hard training to the students. He also gets friendly with Neelu, further angering Montu. Singh realizes Montu is jealous and taunts him. An angry Montu assaults Singh. The principal tells Montu to apologize to Singh. He refuses at first and then requests her to hold a competition between two teams of the school.

He explains that the winner would be the PT teacher. At first reluctant, the principal relents when the ex-principal, Shukla (Saurabh Shukla), prevails upon her and and selects three sports for the tournament basketball, 400 meters relay race and kabaddi. What happens finally? Who wins the competition? What happens next forms the rest of the film.

Positives
1. Rajkummar Rao and supporting cast excellent performance
2. Climax
3. Cinematography

Negatives
1. Predictable story
2. Lengthy
3. Screenplay
4. Mediocre Direction
5. Music

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I watched the trailer it looks very good and expectation was very high due to big names associated with it with blockbuster combo of Rajkummar and Hansal Mehta.

But unfortunately movie is not that good that I had expected after watching the trailer. We have seen so many movies on same content and nothing new in this movie. Still this movie is good enough to not bore you due to it’s intent and performances. So if you’re looking to spend your 2 hours on this weekend with your family watch it. My final View on this movie Time Pass
